Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I'm always fascinated by how others perceive my character/personality - not that I go chasing feedback at every moment, but when somebody volunteers something, I'll often ask about it, as I think I learn a lot about myself in those circumstances.

So, the question is...how have people described your character that you were surprised by? And when you thought about it - was it accurate?

"Wemp? "

?????

Any how...it's been said I'm kind and sweet. I was horrified to be honest, and mentioned it to my sister.

Half hour later when she stopped laughing she said poor deluded bastard...who on earth told you that?!! When I told her the circumstances she said...aaaah, you're really quite sweet...deep down!!

I find "kind and sweet" people rather sickly, but I can't deny having a heart...deep down!

Bit of narcissim at it's best this thread innit ??

I don't value the opinions of ALL others.

I know myself quite well.

I know their motive before I accept their flattery or criticism.

It's one reason I don't fall for flattery and seldom respond to insult.

AND ....its why I thought the 'jibe' thread was pish .......

Put downs reveal more about the sayer than the reciever.

Apparently I have quite an accute self perception and awareness. However, I am also very stubborn and often refuse to budge.

Hmmmmmmmm you come across as a the type of man that would buy underwear in twin packs. No fancy colours. Colour is important to you and you believe in using colour in it's rightful place. I think you'd paint your garden fence green and keep your decking neutral. I also believe that you are quite outward looking. You refuse to be xenophobic and would invest in European good, particularly French brands.

Just a hunch . xx

I think Granny is....

Reserved, a quiet person who likes to get to the bottom of things (motivated by curiosity). A modest person. Loathes contradictions and illogicalness. Has sharp intellect. Quickly and comprehensively grasps patterns, principles and structures. Particularly interested in the fundamental nature of things. Likes to work alone.

(I read it on the back of a cereal packet)

Polo - Never one to lick her own ring. A whole hole. Curvacious , precocious. Sometimes fickle , never publicly weak. Truths she pervades as she circumnavigates. Not one to wriggle nor one to bail out.

"Bit of narcissim at it's best this thread innit ??"

I tried to keep it out, but I accept the point.

It wasn't about flattery or criticism to me, more accuracy and the gulf between how we see ourselves and how others see us.

Re-reading the whole thread again in a somewhat sober state, I see that now!

I still think we should talk about me some more :D

I always think you should have a really long beard... it's the song connection that does it.

When I first grew such beard as I do have, there was a vague thought about gowing it down to about my adam's apple - but it started curling sideways very quickly, so I'd have had to look even more ridiculous for six months until the weight of it pulled it straight - or waxed it
