My ex just text me saying what time he was collecting our boy in the morning, he's being all chatty and said 'I know I've messed up but can we be civil for his sake etc'

I said yeah we can be civil for his sake.

Next thing he's messaging me saying he still wants to have sex with me. Once he's split up with his current girlfriend (the reason he just gave me for their breaking up is 'I should of learned about women and their kids from the last one. They are so self centred')

Is he for real??? Can someone come and pinch me please as I'm sure this is not really happening I must be asleep!!

My ex asked if he could see the kids last weekend ( he haven't seen them in 6 weeks as to busy ) Because his new girlfriend had brought him a car and was going to be down this way picking it up . He then didn't turn up and when kids rang him he said he couldn't find driving licence so couldn't pick up car , so didn't have any point coming down !!

Because everytime he splits up with his latest bit he starts on at me again. Before all the drama at Easter we were on speaking terms and friendly enough that I didn't mind him coming round for an hour or two and watching a film with him or having lunch here coz he works shit shifts so only sees him once every 6 days but after all that I don't even let him In the front door I meet him outside. He thinks we can be friends again now but we can't. He's had enough chances with me. I will be civil for our boys sake but that's it.

Being civil is the best approach even if it wears off of him later and he can't keep up appearances. Least you can say and be proud that you remained the adult and the mature one in all of this.

I do remember the thread earlier in the year about when he turned up d*unk and smashed the front door. Not good and he must need his head testing if he thinks you would forgive him for that so soon. You seem to be taking the right path with the being civil thing, but as you say after that meeting him outside seems like a sensible idea. I don't have any kids myself so i can't imagine how hard it must be for you to deal with a situation like this?
