I just started playing a game called "Five nights at Freddy's" it's a point and click survival horror. No game has ever made me jump as much as this one. And there are few I've ever found scary.

Makes me think of the games that have scared me over the years. Or at least created a sense of tension while playing. I think F.E.A.R did this to the greatest effect.

What have other fan gamers played that's actually managed to scare or make you jump?

Seriously though, I was around when resident evil launched on ps1 at midnight.

That game was a whole new kettle of fish; zombie head turn in the mansion, zombie dogs smashing through the windows...

My first horror game was Resident Evil 2. There were quite a scary moments. The one that made me jump the most was the Tyrant monster crashing through a wall!! So unprepared for it.

Eternal darkness on the gamecube was good. As you went mad in the game, it did crazy shut lol it pretended to crash, or delete all ur saves! Then it would laugh and go back to normal

Alien vs Predator is great. The newer game Aliens:colonial marines was for the most part a disappointment but it had a part where you had no weapons and had to sneak through darkness past these weird half dead aliens that exploded when they think someone's nearby. That was quite scary.

Can't wait for the new Alien: isolation game.

There's a fucking brilliant sandbox zombie survival game in alpha development at the moment called Day Z. Youtube it.

You're washed up on the coast of Russia after the outbreak and have to survive the elements without power or running water etc. Your character dies of hunger, thirst, broken legs, blood loss and other players are your biggest threat as they will hunt you and kill you for food and supplies.

When I say it's not that scary, I mean wait until night time when all you have is a torch and nowhere safe to sleep and you're dying of exposure to the weather... and hordes of zombies chasing you across the country.

Dead Space never really scared me. I felt like a bit of an action game. Just gunned down the necromorphs. The Event Horizon style setting was pretty sweet though.

was just about to say Dead Space myself, almost exactly like me, late at night in a dark room but with the surround sound on, i have never jumped so much in my feking life as the necros jumo out of the vents at you.

Even now when i know whats going to happen it still freaks me out, brilliant game.

On a side note, every time i play it i get an urge to watch Evenr Horrizon, brilliant jumpy film

Loved this game. Didn't get past some part where you're a wizard and fight some spider thing in a church. Had to take it back to blockbuster.

Some good horror first person shooters about...The Darkness on PS3 and Left 4 Dead on the xbox 360. Some parts of Gears of War series also very creepy.

The suffering more for the way they set the scene with babies crying and people whispering off screen.

Resident Evil and Silent Hill were all round creepy games and when that dog jumps in the window sheeeeeeeesh!

The gameplay does look pretty sweet. Looks like stealth will be a big part of it. Sneaking past enemies and hoping you don't get seen. That chainsaw chase looked intense.

That games still got so many bugs if you want a better version play arma 2 with the day z mod alot better than day z itself

And to the OP if you get a chance play the forest it will absolutely make you jump but a great game

Think I've seen some gameplay footage of the forest. Is that the game where you crash and have to survive and find a child or something to that effect?

"I just started playing a game called "Five nights at Freddy's" it's a point and click survival horror. No game has ever made me jump as much as this one. And there are few I've ever found scary.

Makes me think of the games that have scared me over the years. Or at least created a sense of tension while playing. I think F.E.A.R did this to the greatest effect.

What have other fan gamers played that's actually managed to scare or make you jump?

The game fear on the pc is the best game for making people afraid. There is a xbox 360 version too.

The licker remains as my fav resident evil creature. When 1 jumps through a one way mirror in the police station. Scared the shit out of me!!
