I have quite a large collection of Medieval music - it can be immensely relaxing - and some it it - with a few candles thrown in - in great for long, sensuous sessions

Very true erectjim. Once in a while a group or artist defines the generation.

If I had to pick one though... I'd have to opt for the late 60s. Listening back to some of The Beatles material just reminds me how they pushed the boundaries and mastered melody!

Being a musician myself (or at least a drummer) I've had to play pretty much every sort of music, and whilst I'm not a Beatles fan, if you listen to the other bands of the era, they did certainly stand out as being different.

For me personally, I have a soft spot for late eighties Cheezy long haired Rock

70s had Black Sabbath Led zepplin rainbow

80s had Dio Iron Miaden, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N Roses nirvana

90s had Brit pop

00s had stereophonics oasis kasabian manic street preachers. Black Sabbath again

Plus bands like The who. Rolling stones.. timeless Rock n roll
