Went into Sainsbury Waterlane for petrol last night and the woman in the next pump smiled at me more than once W0W the power of a woman made my night. Wish I had spoken to her. Did this happen to you.

I smile at strangers, I even say good morning or good evening if appropriate for the time. ... Never thought anything of it.

I smile and say hi to people, common courtesy. Just wondered though, did you get your Nectar points? If not can I have them?

Ahhhhhh in the real world it's lovely to get a smile off a person. Doesn't always have to be about sex

Just gives a lovely warm feeling

I'm a smiler too. Better than looking at the pavement. Bit of nice human interaction is good how ever small.

Here's one for you guys

The power of a smile is a wonderful thing. It's a pity we don't feel it more often.

I smile and chat to random people all the time. I have had some really interesting conversations that way.

It is a lovely feeling when someone smiles at you, maybe even maintaining eye contact for a second longer than usual, but I have had an uncomfortable reaction on more than one occasion, whereby the woman has returned the filthiest look. Very uncomfortable.

I agree it's nice when you get a cheery smile, it costs nothing and is proven to make people feel better. Smiles tend to be contagious too - if you smile at someone (provided it's not in a sinister way, ha!) most people will automatically smile back without even realising they're doing it!

Much better to be positive and smile than miserable and frown in my humble opinion.

I can imagine it would be nice to get a 'hello, I like the look of you' type smile but I never get any of those awww

Are you sure your flies weren't open or something and she was trying not to stare and laugh?

It's the sharp shiny thing in your hand that makes them nervous.

If you look at old people they smile and greet eachother, thats how it use to be like.

Now people are tought to be in a rush and less socialble.

I say hello and smile to people at times, put good in the world

I make a point of deliberately smiling at people as often as possible especially when walking to and from places and just wishing them a good morning. Smiles brighten the moment no matter how dull your day is

When I worked in London, I was once standing outside the Office in Wardour Street and Cleo Rocos (from Kenny Everett TV show) gave me a smile as she walked past
