Which do you think the better way to go would be high speed car/motorcycle accident, quick but messy

Or lost at sea drowning potentially drawn out but less traumatic?

I think drowning would be the worst/most horrific death. I choose neither

Never thought about the sea option. Wrote off the idea of vehicle accedent, as there is no guarantee of success and either way some poor sod has to tidy up the resulting mess - not fair really.

Drowning at sea, on the down side may take longer, but the chances of a successful outcome are a lot greater, there is no clean up to do and the fishes get fed. One slight problem with this option - getting to the desired location in the first place.

Swim? By the time your far enough out you'd be too shattered to make it back I suppose.

although potentially coast guard lives put at risk in the search later

Ok swimming might work, especially if one opted for winter when the sea is coldest as the cooler water would sap ones strenght (even for good / strong swimmers).

As for the coast guard putting their lives at risk, that would depend on whether anyone knew or suspected the sea was an option. So it would have to be on an overcast, winters night, in an isolated location where one would not be spotted going into the water. In addition one would have to ensure that one was not observed being in the desired location (day or night) prior to the attempt being made.

By the way, not sure there is any suitable method that would be both successful and cause the least trouble to those who have to tidy up afterwards.

Oh what a lovely happy subject this is. Anyone reading this and seriously considering any options - please pause and find someone you can talk to...

True. There's always the jump of a bridge into deep water but I'm never sure if that just relies on breaking you legs so you can't swim more than anything else

Bike as long as it's a fatal not a disabled. I've ridden all of my adult life and every friend or person I've known who died on a Bike died pretty quick.

I also know what my last words on earth will if it happened.

It would "OH FFF-!"

Yeah the central barrier on the motorway fills me with dread after meeting my mates dad who came off went through it and it acted like cheese wire removing both his legs. Miraculously he slid to the other hard shoulder and lived though.

Think I'd rather it take my head in that situation.

It's funny the thoughts that go through your head during an off. I remember sliding face down on the road with my visor torn off and the tarmac grinding the front of the helmet an thinking "bloody hell that tarmac's close" ^_^

Or overtaking a learner driver, sans bike and thinking poor learner's gonna have to do an emergency stop for real, hope they are not too upset.

Haha that brilliant beats my mates 20+meter roll where he said all that went through his head was "ground, sky, ground, sky, ground, sky"

You might not die quickly in a crash. I have a driving phobia, and therefore have played out every nightmare scenario going. So I pick drowning.

I reckon a 150 mph impact would be pretty quick especially without the cage

That fast eh. Yep that would be do it for sure. I however, would have started having a heart attack from about 90 mph onwards.

Try motorbikes. I feel incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe in a car but perfectly happy on a bike despite being more exposed.

Being a motorcyclist and a sailer I would opt for the bike, that way if I am lucky it would be quite painless for me.

The drowning some how makes me think of the bit in a film, a sinking island and every one singing badly.

I also have a driving phobia, so much sothat I couldn't go more than 12mph during my driving lesson. I'm a nervous passenger too. If I were driving I'd have a heart attack by 20mph and if I were a passenger I could probably make 80 without screaming and crying. If there's a lorry within 10m of the car I'm in i stopbbreathing and wait for it to pass.

But I also have an irrational fear of the sea. Not water in general, just the sea.

So I pick neither! I'd rather jump out of a plane without a parachute!
