"When they start selling chocolate flavoured ones....................... A I'm on board when they develop bacon flavoured fruit! " Isn't that almost what they have done with vegetarian bacon? Why make vegetarian things taste like meat? Meat tastes like meat.

"Are they a more bastardised interpretation than Krispy Kremes? Probably not but I don't see any issues in people eating what they like its their pallet their health and a little bit of something different can be fun. " We usually find we can fit all our shopping in a trolley, never had to resort to a pallet

"Aren't they just different varieties of grape rather than ones covered in stuff? Its just line breeding - you can get a strawberry that tastes of pineapple. Chemicals called esters give fruits their flavours and it is the proportions/types of esters produced by the fruiting body that alter it - nobody thinks its sinister that different varieties of apple can taste very distinct. " My questions to that would be what methods are they using to manipulate the taste, i.e. is it a manipulation of the esters level and by what means, or is it an introduction of other chemicals and if so which ones and what are the side effects?

I would be very curious to know what breeds were crossed to produce a candy floss flavor. Its possible that this is a by product of the genetic modification process, the long term effects of which i understood to be unknown. It's also possible it's done via introduction of chemicals. I'd be researching before i bought them, just to get a better idea of the processes involved, particularly because my son is quite sensitive to foods
