Supermarket car parks

why do people reverse into supermarket car park spaces??

the boot is at the back of the car ffs so go in nose first so you dont have to push your trolley inbetween cars to unload it and scratch peoples cars ffs.

sorry for a friday rant, luckily i caught them scratching the f**k out of someones car so they felt obliged to hang around to swap details.

Because if its anything like the car parks over here and the people driving its easier to reverse into a space then out without some eejit causing a collision.

I always reverse in. But I don't push my trolley to the boot. I take the bags out of trolley at the front of the car and carry to the boot..

Many ASDA's there is middle lane to back into and you get them driving in there. Somme people are arses and just don't care about others property.

Don't get me started! I cared for my mum, who was wheelchair bound, for 8 years. Can't tell you how many times I couldn't find a spot due to selfish arseholes using spaces they weren't entitled to.

Same here, endless queues to get the spaces nearest the doors for the lazies so we'll park as far away as possible. Always loads of room. No car scratches, no stress, no awkward manoeuvres. Bliss

I am an arse hole at the moment as I dont have a blue badge but we do use the disabled parking spots ..... I have had a big operation and am not very mobile and in lots of pain so (with Tescos permission) we use the blue badge spots

I have no problem with those in genuine need. It's the obviously able ones like the young woman in the SLK who whizzed into the last spot ahead of me when I was driving my mum's mobility van and who's excuse was that she'd only be 5 minutes. My mother and I were apparently meant to sit there and wait. She soon moved when I parked behind her, opened up the back and made it look like I was going to pull the wheelchair ramp out. When she realised I would probably be blocking her for at least 30 minutes she changed her mind about needing the spot. After a considerable amount of aggressive language and abuse.

It wasn't the first time I'd had someone yelling abuse either. Some people are selfish arseholes. Simple as.

My hubby being my hubby stood there as the guy got out and made him park elsewhere!!!

I've had to resort to parking in parent/child spaces when there were no disabled bays available.

Parent/child bays are a courtesy provided by supermarkets. Whereas disabled bays have to be provided by law.

I'm sorry but I'm someone who reverses in. Even better if there's two spaces end to end. As I will drive through just so I can pull straight out, when I've done my shopping. I've never scratched a car with my trolley and never will. I respect my own property & other's.....

Why does it bother you if it's of no consequence?

I usually reverse, my current every day car has a turning circle the size of somerset, so it's easier to reverse in and achieve equi distance first time withouth jockying back and forth. It makes it quicker to pull off (oo er misses).

Like others, I park well away from the entrance - a short walk is no bother, and I'm nearer the exit if it's busy with queues to get out.
