Ive always been a DD but since I started taking the pill ive gone up to an E.. I used to have problems with my spine curving/bad posture (im only 5"1 / size 6-8) but now im having pretty bad back pain, especially when im bending down to hoover or something. . I spend a lot on bras and most shops don't sell anything above a D. Tiny A/B cup bras are just sooo cute as well!

I just can't afford the however many thousands it would cost for a reduction and am considering speaking to my doctor about possibly having this done on the nhs..

im just worried I'll get laughed at for asking

has anyone else had surgery? was it worth it? my main worry is the scarring I think.!! :-/

Go see the girls in Bravissimo. They'll sort you out with a decent bra that looks good.

Speak to your GP though, they'll give you advice on whether it's possible for you to have a reduction on the NHS.

Doubt a Dr would laugh at you. If youve medical grounds for it then whats the harm in asking. Good luck

Hi, I do feel for you. Firstly, your doctor won't laugh at you - this is a genuine health problem and one that many women suffer from. A friend of mine - also very petite, had the same problem and had a breast reduction done years ago. She said it was the best thing she's ever done. I'm not sure if she had it done on the NHS but I think your first step is to speak to your doctor and ask the question. Best of luck Xx

Where is the psi in your back? If it's lower I'd suggest trying exercises that work your glute muscles such as squats. Strong glites will support your back.

If it's in another area then see your gp.

I think it's worth talking to your doctor if it's causing you a problem. Girls like that stupid Josie what's her face get given boob jobs on the nhs so why shouldn't you be given a reduction.

Couple misspellings there. *pain not psi & *glutes not glites. lol

Oh and yes, I agree with Dirty Girl - Bravissimo are excellent. They really know what they're talking about, have a huge (scuse the pun!) range of sizes and very pretty bras. Not cheap but well worth it.

Sorry you're in pain. Definitely get your bra professionally fitted - and get new ones every 6 months if you can, for best fit. As far as reductions go - from experience, Drs are more likely to treat you if there's mental as well as physical pain. Is it affecting your day to day life? Is it making you depressed? Sounds like it may be. Get to the Dr, but don't be too British and tell him you're fine. Tell him why you need his/her help. X

Yeah got to admit I can't understand why there would be health implications relating to having *small* breasts.. :-/

The women in my family are very large breasted, but petite framed. 2 of my cousins had breast reduction as it was causing severe back problems. They are so pleased they had it done. As for the scarring, I have no idea

Hi - my sister had a reduction many years ago - she had terrible scarring and lost an awful amount of blood - she was very poorly. I think she was in an H cup and was reduced to a D. I am a DD cup size 10 - I don't have any problems with my back - are you sure it's your boobs that give you the problem and not something else? (I don't want to offend you with that)

I would go to your doctor and have a chat. I'm a size 6-8 and have 30FF (fake boobs) and have no problems with back pain. I don't know if real boobs weigh more though lol.

i would think reductions would be looked on favourably by nhs as they reduce expensive pain killer and back ops further down the line

"Ive always been a DD but since I started taking the pill ive gone up to an E..

For what its worth i think you have a great figure.

You could easily get a man off here to come and do your hoovering.

But seriously if you are having problems with back pain go and see your GP about it, hope you get it sorted.

Go see you Gp . They wont laugh at you i promise. I have jad two friends in similar situation to you. They was crippled with chronic back pain. Admittingly it took about 12/18 months to process but they eventually got breast reductions. Yes you will scare like with any operation. But it will be worth it to be rid of the pain. Good luck

I can empathise with you. When I was younger I hated my 36FF breasts and did used to get back pain.

Three pregnancies must have changed the shape of my spine as I don't get it now.

Your GP should be able to advise about scarring and other risks but seeing him or her is your next step.

(Will also be looking at Bravissimo site as I struggle to get sexy undies. Kinky wear even more so - any ideas??)

I don't see why your GP would laugh at you so def go and see him. My friend had a nhs reduction two years ago and it's transformed her, no pain, clothes fit better, nice undies . I've seen her scars close up and quite early on they were substantial but now you can barely see them!!

As for bravissimo get yourself there - they have a shop in Leeds so you've no excuse to go and have a try on

Have to say having read the other replies and looked at your pics I'd be surprised if it was your boobs giving you the back ache!

I am a 36D/E depending on bra maker and have no pains what so ever, and you look fit and well.

Maybe try pilates!!!

It could be your lack of strength in your core muscles that are affecting your back, thus giving you pain.

Worth a try and certainly a lot less hassle than boob reductions! Xx

I expalined to C that a lot is to do with the poor posture that ladies adopt when trying to hide their boobs from adoring/envious/bitchy eyes.

Some exercise and pma should help massively.

Would have liked to check her over before making a final diagnosis though.
