Going in next week for one after long term pain ended up with me fainting several times

No Colonoscopy is not that bad - you will feel some discomfort and a bloating feeling but it should not be painful

No once you have got over the embarrassment it's fine and better done than avoided.

Best of luck and I hope it goes well for you. x

Sorry I got it wrong, it's just over 24hrs for the 'no food' but you can still have black tea/coffee or fruit squash/fizzy pop....but stay handy to a toilet

Greater London

Are you having it done at Arrowe Park?

Ask for a mild tranquilliser to relax you and try not to worry about it.

Good luck .

Ask if you can watch the proceedings on the monitor. It'll take your mind off what's happening.

Lets be honest,it dont really hurt, but odds are your backside side will be making funny noises and squirting stuff.if the chocolate factory gets annoyed .(worse case)but the strangest thing is the nurses usually still just chat to you normally like nothing embarrassing is happening which is good

I have a condition that means I need one annually. The 48 hour starvation and the laxatives are unpleasant.

You are given a sedative which helps. They pump you with air as the camera goes in, which can be uncomfortable and you will be passing wind like crazy during and after, which is a little embarrassing.

All in all, its no biggy. Just relax and dont worry
