We took a complete chance and rescued a dog from some ned trying to sell it on Facebook last year. He's turned out to be the best risk I've ever taken! He's a 2 year old black lab x collie, and is the most amazing companion to my kids! It's my goal to move to the countryside and own a whole pack of the cuddly beasts!!

Is it not illegal for 2 brothers to get married?

Im fostering a dog at present... Have always had a dog whilst growing up but never owned one myself... I must admit, Im more of a cat person... The dog is beautiful and has fitted well into the family but they need so much more attention then a cat... It's like i have another child, can't go anywhere without it following me... And the hair!! Well lets just say i even had one in my icecream yesterday

Our woofer came home from a local dog show with a few rosettes yesterday - including the top prize!

Fluffiest dog!

I have had several dogs over the years.

The first was a border collie, we had her before I was born. She was more human than dog, I was told when I was born she stopped eating dog food and only ate our food.

The next was a mongrel, she looked like a lion cub. Brilliant dog.

The last dog was another border collie, she lived for 18 years before she got put down. She had a stroke at 13, she recovered but was not the same.

I've got one crossed with a Staffy and he's an absolute softie! Just hate the pre judgement he gets because of what's associated with those 2 breeds. Makes my blood boil! Recently got a second rescue doggie and he's an English Bull Terrier cross, we think possibly with a Jack Russell and its just beautiful to see him come out of his shell after his horrible past!

My Ice Castle! South Wales

My last dog is a springer cross huntaway collie. Off his bloody box just like a springer jump higher than I've seen a dog jump from stood still but so cute as he looks like a puppy chocolate lab even now at 8 yrs old. I miss him terrible as I had to leave him with my exhubby, couldn't take him with me but he's still spoilt rotten and well taken care of.

It's very hard when you lose a pet, they give such simple affection and are so entwined in our lives that they leave a big hole.

Hugs.

The hardest part of being a pet owner is knowing when to let go

I had a collie that I loved with all my heart that was old and really ready to let go, I just couldn't do it and dragged him out for as long as possible, I realised I was just being selfish and had to face upto the fact it was time to say good bye, after I felt guilty for not doing it sooner

If I'm honest I've held onto Pepper for a year hoping she would improve health-wise but she hasn't. The vet said she was such a lovely dog and looked so much younger than her 15 years, was obviously a much loved and cared for dog but I had to agree with him when he said her quality of life wasn't good and was only going to deteriorate.

Was a shocking decision when I had only taken her to be checked over, but I knew in my heart I was right to let her go.

The heartbreaking thing for me was my deceased partner had bought her for me as a tiny pup and I lost him all over again saying goodbye to her.

Ive always had dogs over many years, but was most heart broke back in Jan of this year, when I had to find my 4 month old pup a new home. His fur was getting to my lungs an was slowly killing me. Have been told by the hospital I can no longer keeps dogs of any kind.Merlin picked his new owners from 6 families who wanted him.I keep in touch with the family an they send me photos. I do miss him.

That must be so difficult to come to terms with

At least I was able to have and love my dog for many years, how sad to find one and have to let it go so soon. I feel for you. xxx
