Hi I need some urgent help. I recently had a mutually enjoyable meet with a fantastic lady. We exchanged phone numbers and also often exchanged explicit messages on here. However this took a worrying turn this weekend with and I have started receiving numerous abusive messages and silent calls day and night from her. Have tried to phone/message her to get her to stop however with no success. Also tried via here only to find she has blocked me. Any useful suggestions would be most welcome.

can you block her number on your phone? Failing that can you get a different number?

This is harassment and the police will deal with it if you ask them, sometimes just mentioning that you are prepared to go to them will stop the calls.

Harassment is horrible.

If you have a smart phone you should be able to block the number if not just don,t anwser when she rings and delete messages without reading them she,ll get fed up soon if theres response and it costs her money for nothing

You will just have to ignore her, trust me the calls will stop, yes it's an inconvenience but I suppose it's a occupation hazard on these sites

one more thing, buy a cheap pay as you go phone then if this happens again you can just throw the sim card away.

Altho admin cannot do anything about the calls and abusive text messages report her profile, she may have behaved similarly in the past in which case they may have received other reports, if there is a pattern they might be able to intercede.

I had a similar experience when a guy started sending me threatening messages, I spoke to my mobile service provider and they changed my number instantly, it was frustrating having to let people know my new number but worth it for my peace of mind.

Remind her that you have her number and a log of the calls and messages and will report these to the police if she does not stop, hopefully that will be enough to stop her. Then block her on your phone and on here and try and forget about her.

Some years ago, I was stalked by an ex-boyfriend who left me and got married! He kept ringing me and would not speak. I thought by ignoring him, he would go away, but he didn't so I got the police involved and also BT who monitored my incoming calls. This went on for some months and was very stressful for me, so I know what you are going through. I eventually moved and the calls and stalking stopped.

Despite being exdirectory and using the telephone preference service I still get some unwanted calls. I ignore with-held numbers or calls from those I dont know. If you dont know someone well and have done nothing to offend then Id imagine the problem would stop fairly quickly. Or just use a temp no for a couple of weeks for those who know you. If it persists Id inform the police, in case it is a jealous male partner etc. Id remove your details from anywher they are traceable too, if she didnt have your address/name etc. The phone companies and police are able to help - a permanent no change is usually the next step, but a temporary no on a pay as you go sim delivers the same benefits without permanency. You can also block users who have already blocked you - and report them too. Do it.

Option B - Politely text asking for this nonsense to stop.... but call her by someone else's name. When she's finished fuming from that and sends a message to correct you, reply with "oh you're not ******, which one were you then?". Immediately after sending this text apply a number block and chuckle your tits off.

Option C - Ask if she's up for another shag. Explain her newfound spirit is arousing.

Option D - Kidnap her favourite shoes and send one sawn-off heel back in a box.

Option E - Stand outside her home in full gimp outfit wearing a sandwich board... "(insert name) I love you - MARRY ME"

Op...I had some hassle from one half of a couple I met and went to the police with it. They were very understanding and logged everything, but asked if I'd prefer them to make a quick phone call first before making the complaint more 'official'... In the end that was all it needed, one phone call from the PC explaining what could happen if she didn't stop and she left me alone. Think they assumed that because of the way we met I'd just put up with it rather than deal with the embarrassment of going to the police... Turns out they were more worried about police involvement than me!

You sent a text message saying you will be contacting the police if it continues. I would think that would bring most people to their senses and hopefully it will stop.
