I am outraged!

I have seen the trailer for the new Paddington film and, shock horror! IT'S NOT PADDINGTON.

We all know what Paddington looks like. He is his own brand. To get this imposter to play him is outrageous.

Who will join me in my campaign to tie myself up at Paddington station, eat marmalade sandwiches and complain bitterly that Paddington should be in his own film?

its obviously been polished, designed by consumer testing, straight teeth, will probably be wearing some sort of branded outfit for extra marketing points and is, as usual, targeted at the American market- its an entirely different Paddington in the same way that American football involves little connection between ball and foot and the World series doesn't operate outside the states.

It could have been worse, Studio Canal (producers/distributors) are French, so Paddington could have been wearing a beret and burning sheep

The 50 'Paddington Bear' statues around London for the NSPCC will have everyone believing this is Paddington. Then it gets reinforced in the shops.

It is as I feared: my family and friends have been won over. They enjoyed the film and decided it didn't matter that Paddington didn't have the staring role as the bear/thing that played him was sweet.

This film is going to encourage people to want bears for Xmas , same thing happened with Dalmatians in that cruella film , then when they get big people will just set them free in the countryside ...pretty soon we will have bears shitting in the woods and everything , they haven't thought this through at all !

I have been to see it today and its a lovely film. My son has a Paddington bear who has a blue hat, red duffel coat and blue wellies which I got from a charity shop about 6 years ago. He has been moved into my son's bed now!

Think about it please. Paddington is getting on a bit now, and this is about when he arrived in London. As with most hollywood output, they had to get a younger, thinner actor in. They could have got one that looked a bit more like him though. (I can't quite believe I just wrote this!!)
