Or so at least two newspapers exclaim today.

But despise all the rhetoric about what should be done ,and given the many scandals over our farcical immigration control does it fill you with confidence.

Not me !!

I am not really sure why people are making a fuss about this now, you only have to keep your eyes and ears open on the streets of our country to know this has been a threat for years.

I just glad that we live in a fairly tolerant society, and that extremism and fanaticism is a rare thing (unless it's about football).

Titz Towers, North Notts

I'd rather live in a place where people have the freedom to have nutty beliefs than one where people are told what they can and can't believe. I do draw the line at following a nutty belief with physical action, mind; so if my mum decides to leave everything to the toothfairy, I will contest the will

There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where British soldiers cannot walk down in uniform, not for fear of offending people... but in case someone decides to attack them!!!

I myself was branded a "baby killer" and had a group of youths chase after me in the street whilst in uniform (I'll leave it to you to guess their ethnicity!).... too bad they stopped when I turned and faced them down!

There are streets where British soldiers cannot get served in shops when in uniform.

There are shops where staff can, and have, refused to sell certain items due to their religious beliefs.

I have no problem with others being free to practice their religion, in fact I welcome it, we British are, for the most part, a very tolerant and inclusive society, but OUR society is what is important, if you don't like the way we do things, then go and find somewhere else to live, if you don't want to serve certain items, find a job where they are not sold.

It's time the politicians woke up to the fact that, sooner rather than later, we face a very real threat from extremism in this country.

We are away this week, but I'm willing to bet the Muslim community in general, and their leaders in the UK in particular, are being very quiet about the reporters death. They are the ones that need to lead the way in the education and de-radicalisation of young muslims, before its too late.

Saw something about a law which can strip any jihadists of their citizenship.

I fully support this, anyone who goes off to fight so called jihad with these barbarians is welcome to stay there

I support it too, but is it true.We hear so often from those with their hands on the levers of power what should and what will happen but it often fails to materialise ?

Fortress of Solitude, Middlesex

Saw this from a friend so I've borrowed it, made me laugh:

London cab driver's answer to a request from a Muslim to turn off the radio. (You just got to love the Brits.)

A devout Arab Muslim entered a black cab in London. He curtly asked the cabbie to turn off the radio because as decreed by his religious teaching, he must not listen to music because in the time of the prophet there was no music, esp ecially Western music which is the music of the infidel.

The cab driver politely switched off the radio, stopped the cab and opened the door.

The Arab Muslim asked him, "What are you doing?"

The cabbie answered, "In the time of the prophet there were no taxis, so piss off and wait for a camel.."

I worked in a diverse school for many years. The hatred of race against race, caste against caste, religion against religion was prominent amongst the students,of whom at one time there were only 16 white British born. It seems to me that hatred is handed down as a legacy by parents and religious teachers. I have a male friend who was taken into a particular group when he was down. His own words were that they brainwashed him. Thankfully he saw sense and put his family first and left. Young people are vulnerable and used as a weapon

Its only going to get worse before it gets better and I do wish people would keep the colour card out if debates like this its about religious fundamentalism and how it radicalises people not the about colour.

"We are having it here in ireland police are watching 40 irsh muslims who have gone to fight in syria.

Best of luck to the 40 - I hope that their wish to gain entry into paradise is granted sooner rather than later.

And lets not forget the 72 virgins that await them for their martyrdom ?

Due to cutbacks and international recession, it's been cut to 2 virgins and a goat

Martyrdom for virgins!

I think virgins are overated, give me someone who's had a few cocks and knows what she's doing any day

But that would make the women more knowledgeable than the men, and being more knowledgeable than a man is, I believe, a stoning offence. I mean, honestly, who would want to get stoned and fucked?

As a matter of fact I did...last night.

"

Shock, horror!! Good girl

Maybe if these jihadists were allowed by their faith to have a wank and a J, they wouldn't be so uptight

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where women cannot walk down in nice new shoes, not for fear of offending people... but in case some twat has gobbed out chewing gum or discarded half a kebab drenched in chilli sauce!!!

I myself was branded a "mumble mumble bitch" and had a group of youths look at me in the street because I told them to stoop spitting (I'll leave it to you to guess their ethnicity... though they were all born locally).... too bad they stopped when I turned and faced them down!

There are streets where British teenagers, regardless of their colour, cannot get served in shops when in a hoodie.

There are shops where white adult customers can, and have, refused to pay for the bottle they have stuffed in their jacket whilst their mate spits at the shop owner and calls them a 'Pakkie bastard'.

I have no problem with others being free to practice their religion, in fact I welcome it, we British are, for the most part, a very tolerant and inclusive society, but OUR society is what is important, if you don't like the way we do things, then go and find somewhere else to live... preferably Croydon.

I'm fairly sure that wanking is forbidden to muslims, but not sure how much they adhere to it. Some more than others, probably.

There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where trannies cannot walk down in leopard print, not for fear of offending people... but in case someone decides to attack them for crimes against fashion!!!

I myself was branded a "tranny" and had a group of youths chase after me in the street whilst in heels(I'll leave it to you to guess their ethnicity!).... too bad they stopped when I turned and told them to form a queue if they wanted to play

There are streets where trannies cannot get served in shops when in anything other than Versace.

There are shops where staff can, and have, refused to sell certain items due to their being out of stock.

I have no problem with others being free to practice their golf handicap, in fact I welcome it, we British are, for the most part, a very tolerant and inclusive society, but OUR society is what is important, if you don't like the way we do things, then go and find somewhere else to live (Croydon), if you don't want to serve certain items, find a job where they are not sold.

It's time the politicians woke up to the fact that, sooner rather than later, we face a very real threat from extremism in this country over the correct biscuit to dip in our Earl Grey.

We are away this week, but I'm willing to bet the community chest from Monopoly, and their leaders in the UK in particular, are being very quiet about the reporters death. They are the ones that need to lead the way in the education and de-radicalisation of lollypop ladies, before its too late.

I may be off the mark I don't know but how I see it is We opened our doors welcomed these people of different religion into our country permitted them to build their places of worship and the majority were happy with this to live along side us. They a few decided to throw it back in our faces by telling us how we have to live and worship! Is this not the ultimate in kicking us in the teeth for our hospitality??

So the muslim lady who refused to sell alcohol at the check out till she was on, (in a supermarket which sells alcohol) because of her religious beliefs should not be in for any criticism then? Would you have complained to the manager in that supermarket if it was you who was trying to buy the bottle of wine or the cans of Lager?

We are either tolerant and inclusive or we are not!

Politicians already know that extremism has existed in this country for as long as can be remembered, it's simply about whose on the recieving end and how we choose to deal with it.

The Muslim community in general, and their leaders in the UK in particular are no more to blame for the reporters death than you or me. Education and de-radicalisation of the young in our society is everyones job, before its too late."

"Saw this from a friend so I've borrowed it, made me laugh:

London cab driver's answer to a request from a Muslim to turn off the radio. (You just got to love the Brits.)

A devout Arab Muslim entered a black cab in London. He curtly asked the cabbie to turn off the radio because as decreed by his religious teaching, he must not listen to music because in the time of the prophet there was no music, esp ecially Western music which is the music of the infidel.

The cab driver politely switched off the radio, stopped the cab and opened the door.

The Arab Muslim asked him, "What are you doing?"

The cabbie answered, "In the time of the prophet there were no taxis, so piss off and wait for a camel..""

"There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where British soldiers cannot walk down in uniform, not for fear of offending people... but in case someone decides to attack them!!!

I have never had a practising muslim refuse to sell me alcohol. I live in an area of London where there are a high percentage of Muslims and I have never, ever experienced any aggro or any misunderstandings.

It is odd that the people jumping on the politically correct fence have refused to answer the question if they would complain to the manager in a supermarket if a muslim checkout worker refused to sell them alcohol at the till?

If a representative of a supermarket chain (ie a cashier) refused to take my money for a product, then I would assume that they, on behalf of their company, are giving me the product for free. If I was stopped by security for doing this, I would complain very loudly in front of the member of staff responsible for encouraging me to steal.

I wouldn't complain to the manager. I'm assuming another checkout person would be along shortly to serve me. Once I had been made aware of such policy I would pay more attention as to which queue I was joining next time I visited the shop.

Will it ever change? Lets live in hope! .........

Would you be complaining if it was a white Christian woman who refused to sell it on religious grounds? A lot of Christians don't believe in alcohol. Whilst some would complain, a good many more would nod and say 'good for you for taking a stand and upholding your beliefs'

I'm American. I don't hate muslims. I don't hate anyone. This thread, and a few if the attitudes displayed, make me very very sad, indeed.

When going into somewhere like Tesco or ASDA you should not have to do that as a customer. Its perfectly reasonable to expect to buy anything in that shop without being questioned at the check out till or told by the cashier when you get there "I'm sorry i can't serve you that because of my religious beliefs".

These people are taking the piss, and its not acceptable. If that is their religious belief then they should go find an alternative form of employment.

It's not a red herring at all, actually. I know members of several Christian churches where alcohol is frowned upon and against the beliefs of that church.

To be fair the British just followed the Americans into Iraq and Libya and even so with the rest does that really warrant butchering a journalist on camera?

It is odd that the people jumping on the politically correct fence have refused to answer the question if they would complain to the manager in a supermarket if a muslim checkout worker refused to sell them alcohol at the till?"

I would go to another till Simple... but more to the point I don't actually believe all i read in papers! The "them and us" attitude is far from adult like ... Why is it deemed to be on a "PC fence " by simply _xpressing that everyone should be given the same respect as we ourselves expect, disregarding, race, religion, sex or sexual orientation ( pointed out in my original postings) ? And that there is ignorance, and hate etc still , in 2014 . Im my opinion

Sigh...cause it's happening everywhere is it? Everyday, every hour, maybe even every minute! Someone somewhere on this fair isle, is being denied a bottle of pinot grigio by a devout muslim?!

Ha...talk about taking it out of proportion.

"Saw something about a law which can strip any jihadists of their citizenship.

I fully support this, anyone who goes off to fight so called jihad with these barbarians is welcome to stay there "

Mmmm so by ur reckoning, young british men off Jewish decent who recently went to inrole in the idf to bomb n shell un shelters n schools in gaza full off women n children is ok.

But young british men of muslim decent who went to fight against them are jihadist n terrorist.

Or the usa bombing isis in iraq, countless drone attacks in Pakistan n Yemen n getting upset when they kill 1 American.

Do u see the slight double standards.

This is wat angers n fuels these young men.

I wouldn't complain to the manager. I'm assuming another checkout person would be along shortly to serve me. Once I had been made aware of such policy I would pay more attention as to which queue I was joining next time I visited the shop.

"

Your position is a red herring, as its not a christian belief to abstain from alcohol, Jesus himself drank wine and the blood of christ in many christian rituals is represented by wine. I'm not aware of any cases of any other religion refusing to sell items in a shop on religious grounds other than 2 muslims in 2 different shops that refused to sell alcohol to custmers based on their religious beliefs.

The question has to be asked.....what on earth are they doing working in those positions in the 1st place if that is their personal stance?

If it did happen to me from somone of another faith then yes i would still complain to the manager.

A catholic chemist has refused to sell the morning after pill to a woman on religous grounds.

A Christian baker refused to bake a cake for a homesexual on religous grounds.

A Christian B&B owner refused to sell a room for the night to a homosexual couple on religous grounds.

"

The christian B and B owners were actually the owners of that business so its perfectly acceptable in that case for them to do what they did and make their own company policy. Again it would be perfectly acceptable if they were Muslim B and B owners.

However Tescos, ASDA and Marks and Spencer i think the cases were where muslims refused to sell alcohol on religious beliefs, it is not company policy to refuse alcohol to customers so the check out till assistant should have served them no questions asked.

Same goes for the Baker and the Chemist you highlighted if they were working for a big chain like Lloyds or Boots they should serve the customer no questions, unless it was a privately owned baker or chemist then yes they can make their own policy on who they serve and what they serve.

Got news for you, the British military don't decide who they go to war with, it is the politicians in westminster. If you want someone to blame then blame them, not our armed services. The list is endless ........

Some good , some bad as in all sections of any catatagory in our society ... Such a shame that , prejudice, ignorance, and hate , still exsists in 2014... Have we progressed? Clearly not .... Is it wrong to tar all bad with the same brush? Yes it is....

Will it ever change? Lets live in hope! .........

Isn't it wrong to tar all concerned over this issue with the same brush also many know its fundamentalists not broad stream Muslims? well you would hope so , but bet many law abiding, decent living Muslims would beg to differ re that ....

And I would wager a lot would think differently I wouldn't think all muslims would tar concerned people assuming they thought all Muslims were fundamentalists. I just think its a little ironic you castigating people for doing exactly what you have done on this thread thats all. clearly You and I live in different Worlds.

Clearly we do as I have an open mind and don't tar everyone with the same brush it wouldn't harm to open your mind a little. lmfao! Yeap i know fuck all at all!

Thats not what I said though I said open your mind that would start with not making blanket assumptions while telling others not to its too faced nothing to do with not knowing fuck all. Try opening your mind understanding all points of _iew it would be a revelation to you. "

would that be the same people whose relatives fought fascism in ww2, who helped to defeat the axis powers and live in a democracy rather than under oppression which also enables us the free speech we have today..?

Extremism what ever form it takes is abhorrent be it jihadists or nationalists like some we have spouting nazi like rhetoric

Talking about it and acknowledging it is important so that we can educate ourselves about what really makes a tolerant and just society

I'm first to say that if you don't like the way we live in the UK then go away, more do if you chose to active engage in killing or supporting anyone that kills innocent people no matter where they come from then you should go to

Collateral damage happens in warfare but active targeting of innocent non combatant people is a war CRIME

Tolerance is good allowing extremists to continue is not

In rome do as the Romans do!!! We go over seas the majority live within the laws and beliefs of that country. Do some religions in the uk also do that???. The gentleman who posted here from the brum area who said we brought it on ourselfs etc. I find your comments rude and insulting, you are allowed to practise the religion you choose and do the job you want thanks to the British forces of ww1 and ww2. They fought to give us what we have now!!!. Extremeists such as Isis have no place in this society, the blatant and vile murder of the America chap proved that and if you condone the behaviour of such militants then you need your head testing. Anyone that has a British citizenship or passport that goes to fight for Isis or any other group such as them should face the firmest laws or not be allowed to come back to the uk. If they have such strong feeling to fight for the country let them take the whole family and live there.

No one in their right mind would condone such an atrocity. With respect however, you and many more posters need to understand that there are no simple solutions to very complex issues. Killing everyone associated with the perceived problem is an archaic attitude but is one that has existed in the Middle East for thousands of years.

I don't agree with your simplistic _iew but by the same token, I do not agree with an attitude of such extreme tolerance that our very liberty is put at risk. The reality is that Islamic extremism is no different to any other kind of religious extremism in as much as those extremists want to enforce their version of their religion on the rest of the world. It is expansionist by its very nature and is no different aside from 2,000 years, from the Crusades.

One very fortunate thing for the West is that in the hotbed of extreme Middle East politics there are two versions of this religion who equally despise each other and the geography means that there will be a day of reckoning within that religion long before there is a day of reckoning with everyone else.

Having said all of this... I would not want to be a politician in any western country and have to make decisions about military action in the Middle East. There are no right responses and the consequences of all decisions could prove very costly... In blood.

This thread makes amazing reading. Just feel I need to add that the UK Muslim Council were reported to have 100% condemed the murder of the Journalist especially as journalists are the main way for info and aid to flow. Without them how would anyone know what was going on.

For every hothead (hoody, jihadist, edl activist etc)there will be hundreds of others tarnished or worse by their actions. Let's hope our free journalists never sensationalise minorities for the sake of selling papers at any cost.

Balance is everything is the british way isn't it?

Precisely.

And at least two out of the three are being prosecuted, and persecuted, for doing so.

So WTF weren't Tesco's?

"

Because the person got their alcohol perhaps.

It was a different era then education was different and attitudes however deportation wasn't or isn't the answer. Just imaging if the Spanish got fed up of the London mob in Marbella and shipped them back here it would be a right mess down Essex way.

Any swinger or women in particular is regarded as adulterers by any Muslim with basic not even extreme beliefs.

The punishment for adultery is usually prison and flogging for the man and prison then stoning to death for the woman.

The women get blamed even if they get raped because she made him do it by luring him.

I'm not Islamophobic this is Sharia law and a fact.

And at one time, in Britain, Christian women were beheaded for adultery. Some famous cases of it, actually. 2 of them were cousins.

Doesn't the Bible talk about women being stoned to death for adultery?

Just because western society no longer allows these, doesn't mean it never did. This site itself goes against fundamental Christian beliefs, as well. The likes of westboro Baptist would condemn us all to the deepest level of hell without second thought. Yet we deem ourselves worthy of living or lives as our conscience dictates as a right, not the privilege that it truly is. We also apparently seem to deem it our right to sit in judgement on others that we don't truly understand just because their conscience tells them something different to ours. That! That is the real threat to 'British society'. It ain't religious. It's the 'I'm entitled. I can. It's my right.' mentality.

the good lands, the bad lands, the any where you may want me lands

"There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where British soldiers cannot walk down in uniform, not for fear of offending people... but in case someone decides to attack them!!!

There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where Black Men cannot walk down in civilian clothes, not for fear of offending people... but in case someone decides to attack them!!!

I myself was branded a Black Bastard and had a group of youths harrass me in the street whilst in in a suit and tie (I'll leave it to you to guess their ethnicity!).... too bad they stopped when I turned and faced them down!

There are streets where Black Men are treated with suspicion when being served in shops when in civilian clothes.

There are shops where staff can, and have, refused to sell certain items due to their religious beliefs.

We British are, for the most part, a very tolerant and inclusive society, but OUR society is what is important, if you don't like the way we do things, then go and find somewhere else to live....that said we British must understand that we are a very diverse society and we do a lot of different things in a lot of different ways which reflect a lot of background cultures in our society that are now British.

Education and de-radicalisation of the young in our society is everyones job, before its too late.

There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where disabled people cannot accesss in the same way as the majority of people, not for fear of offending people... but because someone has decided to construct barriers!!!

I myself are forever being branded a Blind Bastard and have had groups of youths taunt, insult , and spit at me in the street whilst in a suit and tie going about my business. My friend who is also Blind was thrown into a canal by a similar group of youths (I'll leave it to you to guess their collective IQ and ethnicity!)....

There are employers where Blind Men, and women come to that are treated with suspicion when being inter_iewed for jobs in companies when doing nothing more than the next person.

There are shops where the inaccessibility of the built environment and staff can, and have, refused to allow access or to sell certain items due to their biggoted beliefs.

We are either tolerant and inclusive or we are not! The sobering truth is that we are about inclusive across all cultures and diversities as is the moon is made of cream cheese.

Politicians already know that discrimination has existed in this country for as long as can be remembered, it's simply about whose on the recieving end and whether that has a huge impact on society as a whole, or whether by fobbing that minority off with a tokenistic piece of statute, all bundled in within a weightier piece of legislation and given the grand title of the Equality Act 2010 how we choose to deal with it is going to be subject to so much scrutiny and differances in interpretation that true change will remain beyond all Disabled people.

The non disabled community in general, and their leaders in the UK in particular are to blame for the lack of access to the built environment, barrier free access to literature and the written word, blatant discrimination and outright hatred towards disabled people as much as is those biggoted attitudes of people who cheer and applaud at the disabled communities paralympian achievements, yet continue to patronise and treat those same disabled people less favourably.

It was in the news yesterday that new laws are being drawn up in westminster to deal with jihadis who go off to fight in foreign conflicts. They could have their passports removed or their british citizenship taken away, so not be allowed back in the country. I think this is the right way to go, last thing we want are these British ISIS fighters coming back here and doing another 7/7 bombing or Lee Rigby killing.

Hopefully an american warplane will drop a bomb on these jihadis heads before they get chance to come back to the uk anyway.

As for the guy (who the authorities think is british) who beheaded the american journalist, it was also in the news that MI5 and other intelligence agencies now have a good idea who he is.

Hope he is brought to justice soon, and if he is not killed fighting over there, and tries to come back into the UK he should face the full force of the law when he gets here.

Up till 1998 it was an act of treason punishable by death to 'Incite Disaffection of members of HM Armed Forces, or to bare arms against the same. However Mr Blair and Co (with the help of the Tories) quietly got rid of all the laws that would now protect us from these jihadists.

The difference is Expats don't try and overthrow schools or force religion on to the country they live. Mainly live by the rules and laws of said country expats don't force our women to wear clothes that restrict them as human beings. Expats as a whole don't go to another. I think when you attack people as being political correct do-gooders for holding a different _iew you lose the moral high ground in an argument as it becomes petty name calling.

I do not know one person that denies that extremism exists in Britain. It's undeniable. But as even the vast majority of muslims condemn that behaviour I'm not overly concerned about it being widespread. Tge muslims I know (and there are many) are without exception good peaceful people

Cat meat (not kittycat.. just cat)

Urine

Fecies

Rat/mouse droppings

And last but no means least semen

Obviously it got closed down but reopens month or two later

And you think this doesn't happen in any other food outlet? Pop cans are well known for having rat urine on them so think of that every time you quench your thirst by drinking out of them without wiping the top first!

Wiping the top of a can does fuck all just makes it look clean the actual stuff that makes you Ill or even can kill you is unseen and unaffected by wiping it...."

I think you missed the point I was trying to make lol

"well well are we not all very tolerent folks!!! yes there may be jihadis on our street but fortunately not all muslims are extremists but as per usual the papers say it and we believe it and before long retribution will be taking place and probably again many innocent law abiding citizens!!!!sorry but our opinion and we expect to bee shot down about it!!!!!

Yes we are a tolerant nation, and moderate muslims are welcome here....but some people seem to be in denial or simply refuse to acknowledge there is a very real threat from radical muslim extremist fundamentalits in this country. Why don't these politically correct do-gooders just get off their high horses and admit it???

I think when you attack people as being political correct do-gooders for holding a different _iew you lose the moral high ground in an argument as it becomes petty name calling.

I do not know one person that denies that extremism exists in Britain. It's undeniable. But as even the vast majority of muslims condemn that behaviour I'm not overly concerned about it being widespread. Tge muslims I know (and there are many) are without exception good peaceful people"

And also because some of us arguing from an opposing perspective are far from politically correct do gooders, (just ask me my thoughts on the death penalty or penalties for pedophiles to see the truth of that) though we are both politically aware and politically educated and as such look at the situation for the reality And analyse the facts that we find in order to come to a grounded and informed conclusion on an issue rather than scaremongering, attempting to penalise the whole because of the actions of the few, or just in general spread misinformation and hypocrisy.

Also on the subject of religious extremism can we mention Britain First who masquerade behind the mask of Christianity . They think terrorising old mem in Mosques is acceptable. They think using Lee Rigby's death despite the _xpressed wishes of his family not to do so is acceptable. They think using the death of our soldiers to fuel hatred despite the _xpressed wishes of our armed forces not to do so is acceptable. They think blaming Robin Williams for his own death because he denounced Christianity is acceptable They think dressing like paramilitaries and intimidating people who disagree with them is acceptable.

And they do all that while claiming to be 'Christian'. So let's not kid ourselves that it's just Muslims that are out on our streets preaching intolerance and hatred and creating an atmosphere of fear because it's not.

"There are streets in THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, where British soldiers cannot walk down in uniform, not for fear of offending people... but in case someone decides to attack them!!!

Is it open extremism being preached in mosques that is radicalising them or are they all just being radicalised from the internet?

The americans are sending their own intelligence team over here as they think we are a soft touch with muslim extremists (does'nt exactly fill you with confidence does it?).

What ever the case, the threat is real and people are entitled to be concerned. For the record i don't think the moderate muslim community in this country is being vocal enough in their condemnation of these terrorists, and i think the muslim community should be doing more to expose the extremists within their community.

Intelligence services have cooperated since the inception of intelligence services, under the right circumstances. Whether they offered or were asked in, they couldn't do it without the uk being willing.

And it may or may not be the cia. There has four many years been a joint British American security council. It may be homeland security, tge fbi, tge nsa, the secret service, or any combination of the above who are offering to aid Britain.

Muslims have been in the Uk from as early as the 9th century so they have been practising their religioun here longer than many of the Church of England faiths.

Moderate muslims is the definition gimp gave earlier in the thread, and they are welcome. It is the radical muslim fundamentalist extremists who are not welcome here, the government now must also think this as they are currently making laws to take away british citizenship from those brits who go abroad to fight for groups like ISIS in syria and Iraq. So the government does'nt think they are welcome either.

Hatred bigotry and intolerance are human traits not aligned to any particular religion"

Great post

Hatred, bigotry and intolerance are very ugly traits that most reasonable human beings would not openly admit to having.

Dress these traits up in some form of nationalism or religious conviction and some otherwise decent human beings choose to be blind to the naked reality of their bigotted intolerance.

ISIS has and will kill more Muslims than Christians.

Had Obama and Cameron achieved their goals of going to war with Syria in order to remove Assad and support the 'rebels', British troops would be fighting as 'allies' with some of the groups that now align themselves to ISIS.

This is a complex mess and one thing we do not need is to allow scare mongers to divide British society even more than it already is by use of their own bigotted intolerance.

Why would a complex war between Muslims in the middle east invoke discussions of selling alcohol over shop counters in England?

Some people will choose to twist this ISIS situation in northern Iraq to push their own divisive personal agendas based in their own naked bigottry.

Some extremists would like Muslims to leave the UK. Some extremists would like to impose sharia law in the UK. Many Christian extremists choose to forget that we've been here before with the whole Catholic v Protestant dogma.

Extremists on one side of an argument will always create extremists on the other. All extremists pedal fear.

Think for yourselves people, and then ask yourselves whether your thoughts are genuinely tolerant or not.
