In Waterstones with my boys. Oldest adores reading but younger son is very dyslexic and hates the sight of books normally. Well he had his head buried in a minecraft book trying so hard to read it and then told me leave him alone.... Think a wee break through is happening , so fingers crossed.

Its all about finding something that interests him. Have you tried the acetate sheets of different colours - they sometimes help their concentration too.

Much as Minecraft annoys me they do have to write in it too. There are loads of Minecraft books.

Once he gets the bug he'll see books and reading as a positive thing.

I spend a lot of time choosing books for the kids. Sometimes it's about getting the timing right for a certain book.

Try comic / picture books as they are less frustrating for dyslexic kids. There are books available now aimed specifically at boys who don't/ won't read. Sure if you google you will find them. Yes...always feed his interests, that is what will inspire him. One of my sons is dyslexic. It was a nightmare getting him to read.
