I wouldn't really call 4 years an age gap.

I tend to date women older than me - I don't really think it matters how old the person you are dating is, I tend to forget that they are older, because I treat them as I'd expect to be treated....

If he's hot and cold he really should see a doctor, sounds like he could be coming down with a case of the flu, lol.

don't worry about it, age means nothing really so long as they are mentally mature (not sure your guy is though, do you feel his is ready for socialising or commitment yet, just from what you say it doesn't sound great to me).

i had kids with someone older than me, then a long relationship and more kids someone 5 years younger than me, then been in a long relationship with someone 9 years younger then me. i'm of the opinion just go with the flow and make sure you don't have your wires crossed about what relationship you want with somebody else. i don't think anyone should expect a relationship to last forever anyway, people leave, or die, so just enjoy the moment and communicate properly during your time together.

Mental maturity, or emotional intelligence counts I think more than age gaps.

You can get quite young people acting/feeling older than they are and older people vice versa who may not be as mature as years would have intended

I'll address the glaringly obviously... No, I'm not in that group of people you've asked to respond, but anything to help

Repeating a previous post, 4 years is not much of a gap... Unless you're older (more mature) than your years or he is a little on the immature side, basically.

I could have this wrong but am I to suspect that the 'qualities' you've outlined are part of his appeal? Sometimes trying to work someone out who isn't so easy to read (and you are attracted to) is a fun little adventure.

Go for it, I say. All the best

You need a mature man to keep you on the straight and narrow lol

and some women just tend to go for this...

I prefer all my relationships/encounters to be drama free..otherwise I'm not interested.

I agree and very much doubt it has anything to do with his age. Maturity in this sense, has more to do with experiences than the time a person has spent walking the earth. Don't make excuses for him and don't let him mess you about

You are 28 and he is 24 so I am struggling to understand what point the question is? To me that is a perfectly acceptable age difference whether you normally go for older or not.

Perhaps just meet him and see how it goes? Isn't that how "dating" works?

What's wrong with 10 years junior!

I'm about to have a second date with one 10 years my junior, I'm just going to go with the flow and see what happens

Don't try to read him. Enjoy your time with him and as long as he isn't disrespectful or abusive don't worry about the small stuff. Don't let him control your moods or life

Age is just a number .. As oong as theres chemistry and physical attraction then who cares?

Personally prefer older women, much more elegance and class about them

Unless when you say you're used to older, you mean like 20-25 years older, I can't see what the difference is? You're both about the same age so should have common interests etc.

Any 24 yr old guy, has one thing on their mind. Himself.

Sure they have 2 eyes, legs and feet but at 24 they are not dating, they are getting a regular shag with someone they can get pissed with.

I wouldn't take it too seriously, especially if he knows you swing or have swung.

If you can't read him, its probably because he is stoned, had a wank or is fucking someone.

Thanks for the responses

I was over thinking that day - stopping that immediately!!

For the record I don't think it's a massive age difference between him and myself however the difference between older guys and younger guys is definitely there!

It's a good thing he makes me feel like a silly school girl

You see. I'm the opposite. I'm used to going out/dating older women. Recently i thought i'd dip my toes in the dating scene with someone who is my age. She did the same thing. One minute she's all over me, next me she's cold. One second she's happy and the next she's not. Aa lot of mind games too - i'm not one who likes mind games. Just tell me as it is and let's go from there.

Good luck though.
