I see the Press Association has been asking questions about the Rozzers and how they use social networking, AKA Facebook. Apparently there have been 800 officers investigated and 14% had no case to answer. This means 86% were on the naughty step.

In Devon, there was a final written warning after posing with weapons on Facebook. I wonder if he captioned it, here is me with my penis substitutes. Does the sight of me with a gun make you wet? A Sergeant down there was given a written warning after making remarks about senior officers on the site. He should have remembered he'd added his Chief Inspector before calling him a wanker. A lesson for us all there.

In London a civilian officer in central London posted an unpleasant comment alleging that Muslims had failed to observe a 2 minute silence (what all of them?). Presumably he also starts conversations with, 'I'm not racist, but them Islamomuslims...'

Over in Wales one had a written warning after asking a female member of the public to be his friend on Facebook during a house visit. 'Never mind the burglars, you're fit. Add me! I can pose with weapons if it helps.' Another chap there had a warning for sending an abusive message to a member of the public. It's not like there's no record of it or anything.

In Lancashire one civilian staff member quit (presumably ahead of being sacked) for excessive use of the net, including banking, auction sites and facebook. I wonder what's considered excessive and what is fine?

Various forces also said chaps were investigated for comments deemed homophobic, racist or religiously aggressive. It's a bobbies, job, it seems.

Nope. Some companies hire people to research job candidates on the Internet to see if there is anything that might be relevant to the job they are applying for etc.
