Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I'm currently watching Columbo on 5USA and admiring the amazing fashion sense back then.

So for us old farts that were around back then, what was the piece of clothing you thought was amazing, but wouldn't touch with a 10' pole now?

I remember the short, flared, tartan trousers the Bay City Rollers and their fans wore, and am currently admiring the denim suit Roddy McDowell is wearing on the TV.

My ex sister in law had her Bay City Roller tartan trousers welded to her arse.

For me it just had to be my cherry red Loons that fitted perfectly over the top of my 2" platforms. Wouldn't be seen dead in them today.

OMG I had one of those star jumpers! I loved it

I also had the fashion 'must haves' of the day... Oxford Bag trousers complete with massive flares, pockets down the sides and wide waistbands with 4 buttons. I also wore block platform shoes - it was the only decade I was over 5' 1"

Paisley design shirts. Bright...loud colours! Long...very long pointy shirt collars.

My mum knitted a pair of flaired trousers for me...and I stiLl have them but can no longer fit in them...thank god otherwise I'd be the weird woman around here

I was a teenager and early twenties during the seventies so I wore nearly all of the seventies fashion. I can't say I wouldn't wear any of it again but I doubt it would look very nice on me now

My fav dress was made from cheese cloth with boats on it (6/7yrs old)

Remember my mum made my 2 sisters and me matching brown pinafores which we were made to wear with cream polar necks

I had a pair of very high waisted blue trousers with wide legs and a pale blue shirt, tight fitting with a Gitanes motif and picture on the back, it tied at the waist I think. I wore these with a pair of sky high platform shoes. I'd wear that again but I wouldn't wear my blue floral maxi pinafore dress

70s fashions are great. I remember having this long dress with a layered frill on the bodice, I loved it. I was only a child but it looked very grown up.

I liked the colours, the embroidery on clothes, the garish patterns, the elasticated go go boots, the sparkly boob tubes and hotpants of the disco era, It was amazing.

I do have a vintage 70s dress and I love going out in it,
