The top 10 were on the BBC news page earlier. I've added some comments:

1. What plans are in place to protect the town from a dragon attack? (Wigan Council) - It sounds like they are worried the Welsh may go for independence and have a pop at them and more importantly who would notice is a dragon did devastate Wigan?

2. Please list all the types of animals you have frozen since March 2012, including the type and quantity of each animal. (Cambridge City Council)- I bet the frozen food counter at Tesco is glad this wasn't meant for them. It may have been rather embarrassing to discover that horse is the least of our worries.

3. How many times has the council paid for the services of an exorcist, psychic or religious healer? Were the services performed on an adult, child, pet or building? (Rossendale Council) - I guess the religious healer is one way of dealing with concrete cancer on an office block. The exorcist is useful for dealing with staff on the sick. I'd come in, if I thought I was going to witness someone in accounts have their head spin.

4. Please can you let me know how many roundabouts are located within your council boundaries. (Leicestershire County Council) – the chaps in Milton Keynes are thanking their lucky stars that they haven't been asked. I hope the lad who counted them didn't have anyone next to him shouting out random numbers, putting him off. I know I would.

5. What precautions, preparations, planning and costings have been undertaken in the case an asteroid crashes into Worthing, a meteorite landing in Worthing or solar activity disrupting electromagnetic fields? (Worthing Borough Council) – I like the way this ignores Shoreham and what the plans the council has if one lands next door. Probably tut and close the curtains.

6. How many holes in privacy walls between cubicles have been found in public toilets and within council buildings in the last 10 years? (Rossendale Council) – is this official research or does someone want to know if it is worth visiting?

7. How many bodies are there in mortuaries that have been unclaimed for 10 years? How long have these bodies been in the mortuary? How old were they when they died? Is it possible to have the names of these people? (Richmond Council) – I foresee a listing on ebay coming soon. Stiff for sale. Collect only.

8. How many people in the town have a licence to keep a tiger, lion, leopard, lynx or panther as a pet? (Scarborough Council) – No idea, but I have a feeling it corresponds closely to the number who don't have to worry much about burglars

9. How many requests were made to council-run historic public-access buildings (e.g. museums) requesting to bring a team of "ghost investigators" into the building? (Birmingham Council) – this would make the world's most boring horror film. How many people could be terrified by a ghost with a Brummie accent? My first thought would be that Ozzy had let himself go a bit.

10. How many children in the care of the council have been micro-chipped? (Southend Council) – I think we have enough trouble with feral children without souping them up with micro-chips. Who needs a gang of bionic scallywags hanging about in the town centre?

Re number 8 i was at a safari park in my home state in '95 and the owner had only just procured a mountain lioness from oklahoma. This lioness had been kept as a pet, they're great I'm told because they're the biggest cat that actually purrs instead of chuffs, so was being transported in the front sear of the pickup truck. At a stoplight, someone attempted to carjack the truck and opened the passenger door. This caused the lioness to sit up to look at the commotion. She was fine, not aggressive at all. But the carjacker legged it as soon as he saw her. That meant she thought it was time to play chase. The safari park owner had to chase the lioness, abandoning his truck. He got her quickly and noone was harmed, even the truck was untouched during the shenanigans.

I love some of the FOIs I have seen in my time. Some are truly bonkers.

I'm not sure I have one for Fab but there are some Fabsters I do want to hit with an FOI.

As for Rossendale, I wonder if the council have cut funding for making public gloryholes? Are there sufficient charitable donations of holes that they dont need to provide them now as a public service? Do the holes serve adequately those with both length and girth? Whoever sent that foi did not ask for sufficient information.

You can look up their response and ask your additional questions. Better still, send the same request to every LA in the land.

Lickety - probably best not to draw too much attention to gloryholes, as public expectations are not what they once were. A simple hole in a walk would suffice in the past, now some service users expect higher standards of sanitary care, porn on demand whilst waiting or serviced as well as refreshments. With cuts to council funding the days of just simple drill to be filled are long gone. And if publicity gets out that gloryholes are poorer here than elsewhere, it is bad for industry and tourism and a bid underway for rainbow flag funding from the EU for €69 trillion.

Do you obide by data protection act you should be doing regardless of the status of the business. Under the information act stands the freeedom of infornation which is a act on its own also. Regardless if you think its thick if you dont respond and its a big orginisation they are alloewed to take tge matter to court for the information this can result in big court costs plus a crimminal record for braking an act of law set by old law.

If you dont know this i guess some people are thick in business

They get round it by saying to expensive to provide information. The information commissioner is powerless to make them they can only advise they do.
