I've been e-mailed a 20% discount code for this weekend by one of my favourite shops.

Why do they only do that when I'm totally broke?! Rotters!

Every time I go window shopping I see so much I want to buy and I never have money.

Then when I go shopping and have money I see nothing that interests me!

Do they have an option to apply for a store card? It's an old trick, they tempt people towards the end of the month, when they know money is a little tighter, into applying for a store card because the discounts are too good to miss.

No, they don't do a store card.

I do this often. I did it with next on some furniture I wanted. They offered 30% off if you take out a store card. So I did, got the furniture and paid it off the next week with no interest, then cancelled the card

the store staff that try and sell you the cards tell you to do this - think they just get a commission for a card

Be careful with that. It's technically fraud and the company can take action against customers misusing discount codes.

There was a huge case on Martin Lewis's site a few years ago. Someone shared a discount code and loads of people who shouldn't have had it, used it. The company took action against them all. There was a big hoohah over it.

Yeah there somewhere to change it on the payment page when it redirects you to PayPal, I did it by accident the first time but it's handy!!
