Me and mrs l we're chatting earlier about public transport as she has to get the bus tomorrow

and I asked when was the last time -- around 10 years ago..

Got me thinking the last time I/we used public transport?? We got the train to an exclusive club in Edinburgh around 4 years ago..

But thought I haven't used any other form public transport this century

Simple every day occurance for some peeps , others get panic attacks? Others to lazy or simply have and always use there own transport ....

Every day. About 4 hours ago was the last time. I can't imagine never using it...was amazed when I went to Uni and there were 18 year olds that had never been on a bus

Sunday.

Was only supposed to be an hour train journey with a hangover back to the embrace of my bed but because the trains are SO FUCKING SHIT, the journey ended up at almost 4 hours.

It would have been mildly more tolerable had hurricane Bertha not decided to spew all over me from head to toe on my way to catch the train, leaving me to be drenched the entire time.

I rarely use buses any more since I passed my driving test in April.

But I often use trains. It's easier and cheaper to get a train to London for the day, then it is to drive there, even though it's only 35 miles away. When I'm in London I use the tube or walk.

I like to relax on the train too, I can read and people watch, stuff I kind of miss now I drive!

Buses round here are subsidised for the University students, so I can get a free one to the gym. I usually walk to work but got one home today as I'd been baking and couldn't be arsed to walk for 45 mins with a tin of buns.

I'm usually in London twice a month for work so trains there and back. I get to claim a lot back due to shite trains though - I am paying for tickets using vouchers from complaints about previous journeys.

But I can't be arsed to buy a car. York is pretty good for transport links.

It is hilarious - I used to commute for years and when they do their surveys on 'train reliablity', they hand the surveys out on platforms when the train is just pulling in on time and you can only fill it out for your experience on that particular journey.

I hate them. I have so many stories it goes beyond belief.

We use bus all the time can't afford a car. Nicky not allowed to drive due illness and qualifies for a bus pass. So she doesn't have to pay to use the bus. We also have a disabled railcard which helps with a little of the fares. Never had a problem with the trains yet.

I do it online. If you fill in all the details, and send a scan of the ticket, they really can't say no if the train was cancelled/late/bloody awful. I even managed to get £20 back for the air-con being broken on my train.

I got some money back last month because all but one of the toilets were out of order. I never use the toilet on the train anyway (bit of a phobia) but hey, they don't know that!

You just got to know what to say. All train companies have a policy on cancelled and delayed trains, and nearly all of them offer a full refund if you are delayed more than two hours. Just find their policy online, quote it at them, and keep moaning until you get some money back.

I used to do it all the time on the bendy buses in London..some will just let you on, bus drivers have late at night when I've had no change or run out of money when I was living in London

As I liv ein London I use public transport everyday. It's cheaper than a car, and far more practical too. When it works, its great but when it goes wrong, it goes completely fucking wrong! Especialy as their rebuilding London Bridge.

Used a bus at about 4pm today. Prices are getting silly though, it's £1.50 to get to town from mine now so I usually walk one or both ways. If it's chucking it down and I've got the kids with me I'll get a taxi which actually works out only about 20p more than the bus.

Though living and working in that London the transport network is very good compared outside, there's very little rules in terms if barging on and if I have to wait more than 5mins now I think it's a drag

but all in all it's good.

Occasionally get train back from work if I'm on half a day, other than that, I think the last time was for the Sheffield social back in February...next time will be down to London in November...public transport round here leaves a lot to be desired and even getting long distance trains means I usually have to drive to Ulverston to get on. There isn't a single train on a 50+ mile stretch of coast on a Sunday as we've still got manned crossings which aren't manned on the Sabbath
