She is sick so it is not actually her choice.

If someone suffer cancer would u tell him it is his choice?

For ppl diseases like depression or anorexia seems to be easy curable "cheer up, eat something, how difficult can it be"

My daughters friend got admitted to hospital for this when she was just fourteen. They wouldn't let her out until she reached a certain weight and they are still monitoring her two years on. There has been an improvement and hopefully she'll be ok.

How old is your friends daughter ?

19 so she is classed as an adult ..her body is shutting down on her and she is the only one that cant see it

they cant section her ..she is a very lucid individual and will never go near a doctor and most certainly will not have one imposed upon her ..she sincerely believes life if rosy !

I'm sorry, but I can't agree with the 'allowing' part of your statement.

Seeing a starved animal, yes we can do something about it.

As for a human adult.. well, I do not believe I (for example) could ring up anyone in authority and have them take action.

If she refuses treatment, I do not think anyone in the care profession can do much about it.

Very sad situation though.. I really do feel for her family

Well, it is."

Cancer is a very odd one to choose given that many people DO choose not to accept treatment.

It's only mental disorders where we actually force treatment against thier will

They can. And as for will not have one imposed upon her...well that's why the police get involved trust me no amount of willpower works against a bunch of officers and handcuffs.

Anorexia falls under the list of conditions for which treatment can be forced and freedom removed.

Agreed, she can be sectioned. My cousin was recently sectioned due to anorexia. He is now receiving treatment on a specialist ward.
