100 year old drivers

iTV what an eye opener my dad was a dreadful driver and I don't think his eyes were ok

my mum is 80 and has just got a new car she is a good driver though

do you think people should be allowed to drive at that age?

I think the driver age limits should be ...21 to 65 ....get all boy racers off roads and also all Sunday drivers

wen ppl reach age of 76 ,,think they need retest ,full medical ,,,n make it compulsory every year ,,,young drivers shud b not allowed 2 drive until 21,,

at least if they check eye sight or make it compulsory that you have permission from an optician to say you are ok to drive

You can't introduce blanket restrictions based on an age as opposed to ability and competence. Why not introduce re tests or compulsory dash cams for younger drivers which insurance companies can spot check ? Yes some old folk drive slowly. ...how about passing them safely instead of assuming you own the road and getting angry as they're impeding you momentarily ?

I missed it sadly although I would say age isn't the main issue but the driver but retesting regularly wouldn't be a bad idea for many not just the aged.

Surely this is something that should be assessed on a case by case basis.

Afterall there are some people who are a danger on the road at half that age, and they are still allowed to control a lethal weapon.

On the other side of the coin, some of the people I row with are well into their 70's but are that fit and agile (physically and mentally) that they appear to be in their 50's at the most.

AFAIK it is still a matter of self certification as to fitness to drive, except in specific instances where someone has had a (specified) illness where in that case medical evidence is required to say that the person is now fit again to drive.

Certainly until recently.

If it's now changed, someone will be along to amend this.

the amount of people who think its ok to drive while being on the receiving end of a blow job would seem to prove that.
