I've always been a Sony Ericsson girl.

Recently went with a Nokia (Windows) phone as I was due an upgrade and I'm not exactly smitten...

NEVER liked Apple though.

since it is almost upgrade time at "chez fabs" I am going to wait to see what the new iphone 6 does in 4 weeks time before deciding what i am going to do...

never had any issues with my iphone 5... i am one of these people who cant be arsed with all the technical guff... so apple keeping it simple works for me

I have a Samsung S2.

Dodgy battery, dodgy storage, wont charge other than a Blackberry usb lead, cant see the screen if your outdoors.

They have the cheek to call it a 'smart' phone.

Whereas i hate apple products and love my Samsung. Upgrade due next month, just in time for the Note 4. Eagerly awaiting the test results for comparisons between the note 4 and iphone 6 and new LG

i have always said... if you are an "apple" person.... there isn't enough in the "androld/samsung" universe to make you jump...

and if you are an "android/samsung" person... there isn't enough in the "apple" stuff to make you jump

the biggest decision for me may will be do i go with the 4.7 inch iphone or the 5.5 inch.... and that is the only reason i have actually held an S5... just to get a sense of the bigger size...

Have the S5 and I absolutely despise it. Worst phone I've ever had, ever. Had the HTC one X and absolutely loved it and completely regret not taking the M8.

As someone who works for one of the networks I'd have to say the best phone out at the moment is the HTC One M8, I've never been an iPhone fan or the Samsung Galaxy range, I find iPhones a bit bland and boring and the build quality of Samsung's feel really cheap.

But my best advice regarding phones is go into a shop and play around with the phones your thinking about having, don't just go and look at one sometimes something different might catch your eye.

I love my S4. .... There's lots I don't like about apple and it's ALL about money, apple charge for lots that are free on android. Plus they won't conform to ONE charger for every phone. You can't take the battery out and replace it, unlike most phones.

As someone that has spent decades buying/selling/servicing phones this is my opinion:

Iphones are usually owned by clever pretentious nobs or really thick people (this is a generalisation as 'not' everyone that owns an Iphone is a pretentious nob or thick)

Android phones are usually owned by people that 'want' to customise everything about their phone but don't.

WinMo users want a phone like an Iphone but can't afford one lol

I don't think I am allowed in this thread. I have an iPhone 3 use opera browser on it and never take it when on a social night out. Don't think mobiles should be allowed out except for work and travelling. When the iPhone 6 is out if it impresses L then I may get her 4s (she hated the 5) but if not the 3 works fine.

Iphone is the only phone to have, build quality great, customer services second to none,if you get a fault with your phone, get an appointment and a replacement phone there and then, put your user name and password in and all your data is on your phone in minutes!

Apple change there charger port every 4/5 years, they bring out 1/2 phones a year unlike htc / samsung who bring out 5/6 phones a year!

I only ever have apple phones, laptops and other devices so a little bias however all apple devices need to be jailbroken to make it your own, add the little features that apple miss out

My daughter has the 1020. The camera is great but everything else is terrible. It also got so hot while being charged that the screen cracked and EE won't repair it under warranty as they believe it was dropped (it really wasn't) since then the phones operating system has become corrupt too. Utter junk and a total waste of money.

Samsung every time.ultra reliable.

Had a s3 for 2yrs and now got the s5.put a good case on hem when you have them.ive got the otterbox case and they last forever.sisters s3 did play up.she sent it back to samsung as they have 2yr warranty and the had it back with her in 4days and that was just before xmas super quick repair.great customer care.

So i cant fault them.apple phones always seem to break.on/off button as a example.

Reading this a lot of people seem to be caught in the upgrade cycle which means you can be stuck with a god awful network (EE for example) for up to two tears.

Switching to a one month contract and buying a phone outright is the way to go.

Any problems with an iPhone, just take it to the apple store and let the Genius Bar sort it out. No other phone manufacturer gives you that kind of service.

Hopefully the iPhone 6 will be out around the time of my upgrade so I can make a decision then. But they all look so lovely and shiny.

A complete Samsung household here, none of us like Iphones at all .... have tried them in shop but find them boring and bland tbh.

All of us have Samsungs and will also have them again when our various contracts end, we also have Samsung tablets and love how they link up, they are fun and interesting and very tough which is important for one of us because of their job.
