Windows 8 update HELP

over a year ago

I got a new laptop 2 weeks ago and when it goes to do the first update it does its business then comes up failure configuring windows updates reverting changes do not switvh off. Problem is it doesnt do anything that screen stays up.

It has done it 3 times now.

Anyone able to help pretty please
