beginning to feel a bit silly....I've always been a bit paranoid that people, having seen my photos will be disappointed when they meet me.

I think I look much better in my pics than in the flesh, been told many times, that I look just like my pics and not to worry, but can't help it!

Am I the only one?? Do any of you worry that people will be disappointed after having high expectations from your pics? Or am I just being a silly moo?

im the same, i take pictures to flatter me. Why would i post a picture i didnt like?

who doesnt enjoy the odd compliment (if sincere)

At the same time i do have my 'real' pictures that show me as i am, lumps bumps no make up,, stripped back and in a vulnerable state. Exposed to critique.

Im no longer meeting and enjoy the escapism of photography to be who i want and with artisic licence create nice flattering pictures. I dont photoshop stuff out, i just tweak lighting and colours.

The camera angles are just ones to make me look slimmer.

We all take pics to flatter... there's no point otherwise. Who's going to post a photo of themselves looking like a bag of spanners?

I've always been pretty clear that I'm on the erm... curvy/pudgy/wobbly side. No point in telling porkies (scuse the pun) and other than some wanker telling me I could visit him in London when I was thin, I've never had anyone saying 'oh you're fatter than you look in your pics' so I figure honesty is the way forward. I could get my lardy arse to the gym if I felt that bothered by it but as yet I've not been that bothered. It's true what they say though, love yourself (wobbly bits and all) and others will love you too. I'm pretty sure it doesn't define me and if someone is too shallow to see past my spare tyre and my extra chin then I figure they missed out on a pretty good blow job!

Being honest about flaws is vital for me, i come with a shock value being the size i am..

i want to be confident and comfortable with someone and with that comes the honesty of my appearance. Id only become paranoid about it during whole meet if i managed to get a meet with a guy based of pictures that clearly dont look like me.

Would only end up in me wasting my own time by him not wanting the 2nd meet (the play meet) with time rare to me id be foolish to lie

Generally people post pics taken at flattering angles - be that to make them look smaller, thinner, larger even (if you're a bloke!

) - it's natural in t'internet hook-up land to want to portray yourself as best you can, to garner as much interest.

Some 'fudge' pics for sure. Others use editing techniques such as lighting and shadows, framing or colour adjustment, blurring or softening.

So long as you're not being deliberately misleading - if someone is in any way 'disappointed' with the real you then it's their problem, not yours.

i tried writing out on my profile that 'im a dress size 26/28, with more flubber than a whale, stretch marks that could map out the uk and a jelly belly/overhang that beats any kids tampoline ive ever used' but guys just laugh it odd and cant grasp it until they see it.

I joke about stuff (to soften the blow, to break the ice) but the visual is still vital.

Ms Dangerouslycurvy, I met you at Jaydee's Social and I thought you looked red hot. You've got curves, but they are nice and you have such a warm smile I doubt anyone would notice. And these aren't cheap words to get a shag, as you live closer to some of the places in Star Wars than to me.

However, I'm exactly the same I think I look slimmer in pics so I always tell guys I'm fat that way they either accept me wobbly bits and all or are pleasantly surprised when I'm not as fat as I make out :/ no complaints yet and they always want back for more. I can honestly say that everyone I've ever met via Fab has looked like their pics. Obviously in person you may get to see things you haven't on a profile - I mean things like tattoos rather than a third nipple/second head - but it might be because I've only ever really engaged with those that are good at portraying themselves in their photos.

I'm sure a day will come when someone doesn't - but until then it'll be business as usual!

If you at bothered about your body type, there's only one person who will be able to change it.. Gaining minor complements online, from people who haven't seen you, isn't in reality going to do anything for your self image or actual confidence.

There is nothing worse for me, than a woman who isn't comfortable with herself. It shows so much and you can feel their discomfort when near naked.

I have always had what my family describe as an "interesting face" and until recently always had a slim body but drugs have me a size 14/16 now, strange to get used to as last time I wore size 14 clothes I was pregnant!

Whatever size I am and no matter how knackered my chops look I manage (mostly) to keep a sense of humour and accept my body the way it is, lumps bumps and missing bits

if I'm comfortable with me then so should others and if they are not ...... I release them back into the wild with all their body parts intact.

This is me to a T. I'm a size 16 probably bordering 18 at the moment and I know my pics look a lot thinner because of the angles and the steel boned corsets! Find myself having to lower people's expectations before they actually meet me.

Having said that, I think everyone picks their good angles, men and their cock pics included, so we're all at it!

This is me in a nutshell! Ive always done it and the doubt will probably always creep in just before that first meet with someone new. As others have said who in their right mind is going to put up a bad pic of themselves on the internet its just about trying to get the balance right of a realistic but flattering looking picture of yourself. Although we cant please everyone on here!

Id guess that most of us on here will have some level of anxiety before that first meet - have they expected too much, are we too curvy etc. The person coming often will feel the same, and one of the most attractive aspects of someone is when they just accept themselves. This should be taught and developed from childhood, so we are near cast iron comfortable in our own skins. I try not to put others down, even in my mind, as it creates a negative feel that people are not good enough. We are all just different. Some people ask me if Im convincing - I dont care, Im just living my life as I was meant to be. If others desire me, desire me for me, not because I resemble something else. Bit of a ramble, but it is refreshing on fab that many of us are sweet and should be cherished and dont deserve some of the crap we have to deal with.
