Phil Neville on MOTD?

Well it seems Phil Neville has managed to land himself a job working as a commentator/pundit on Match of the day. After the BBC got hundreds of complaints from viewers after his boring commentary on the England v Italy game in the world cup, is this really a wise move by the BBC to employ him on MOTD?

The thought alone of having to listen to him commentate on games has already put me off watching MOTD and the season has'nt even started yet!

What do you think about it?

I tend to fast forward through a lot of the commentary as I cant stand Lineker.

At the risk of getting slaughtered...while I accept he sounds very very dull....he was actually far more insightful than any of the other commentators, his tactical knowledge was very sound, and he had intelligent things to say both during and after the games he did...just unfortunate he has a monotone voice

Although he is dull I assume he is cheap the beeb take a battering [and rightly so] when then pay big money to celebs - so they can be caught between a rock & hard place.

But with him, Lineker and Shearer OMFG at least Hanson has gone

I'd rather have Hanson any day of the week instead of Phil Neville. Please old action man come back.

i did like Hanson as a pundit - but he is not that excitable - him and lawrenson were like them two old blokes from the muppets

It is not going to work though, Gary Neville is a good pundit, Phil is just rubbish, you'd think the hundreds of complaints the BBC got in the world cup would have told them that, so which dumbass at the beeb decided to hire him?

Rio was far worse in my book as he just lacks the ability to give an impartial view.
