Yesterday I was in a car with someone I know. It's her car and she's had it for 7 years. She drives it very regularly and has done a lot of miles in it over those 7 years.

It was a hot day here yesterday. She's been talking about getting a newer car. She said to me she doesn't really need a new car but she would like one with aircon.

I glanced at the dash and told her she has aircon.

I haven't, she said. Then there was a pause. Have I? Where?

That button on the dash, labelled AC, right by the recirc. button, underneath the fan control, what do you think that's for?

Where? *looks* I've never noticed those buttons before!

I had a D'OH time when I first got on a big bike for my test, the instructor noticed I was having problems cancelling my indicators. I didn't know that most bikes have a 'push in to cancel' indicator .. unlike my baby bike that you just returned the button to the middle position .

OHHH.. and on my first little bike (after my CBT) it was never explained to me (or even occured to me) that if your bike stalls while you are riding downhill.. PULL THE CLUTCH IN!!! That was a painful lesson
