I get to read a lot and come on here, plus I've got a job, which I'm pretty chuffed about in itself. Frankly I'm just easily pleased.

I used to work with some inspirational people, beautiful and life changing to others, I appreciated that though.

Now I'm grateful I have a job I enjoy and manage others in a way they appreciate, or give it my best anyway. Travel is well paid though, hours are well above contract though - grateful to have a job as well, tough climate at the minute, helping a few friends get into better careers too, which is a perk of previous employment as well.

"Nobody gets a free lunch then? "

Yep- but thats because i'm not allowed to leave site once i'm there, which can often be 12+ hours.

Its also been know for us to have a snooze, watch the telly all day, web surf, watch films, repair things we've bought in from home, theres a lot of online betting and football things going on, facebook chats and email bolox, i'm quite often on here or other sites......occasionally we might even do some work

I manage my own day and work from home. If it's a nice day I spend it at the park/beach etc. I don't have to commute. I'm in charge

Might need to mention the frequent 70hr weeks 8-9 days in a row, 5am starts or 4am finishes, working nights/weekends/bank holidays for no extra pay, having days off cancelled as they're really 'off, but available', some strange and questionable practices from having too many opposing departments/politics/egos etc, hazardous working conditions, huge financial and reputational pressures to get things right first time - and fix things that do go wrong very quickly due to financial/contractual limits but with very complex multi directional health and safety issues.......

thats just part of the other side of it.....still want to work there?
