If its just a skim, then probably no more than £100 (i had mine done recently, paid a bit less than that and that was with a repair to it too)

yes I think just a skim will do the trick, it is not in to bad a condition, no need for plaster board that's for sure, I have done a bit of DIY plastering in the past, but it always needs a good sanding, and I don't really want all that mess, so would be happy to pay around a £100

PS I am in Birmingham, I know prices will be different in different parts of the country,

well I had 2 quotes, the first one I thought was a bit on the steep side for a small celling, £260 I was thinking if that's a typical price I will be plastering it myself lol, but much better quote today only £80 all in, and has got good feedback on the website, so I emailed saying I would give him the job, yippee I don't have to get covered in plaster again lol.

At £80, you can afford to let him have 3 goes at getting it right and still have the price of a meal out

I know but the website I used that post out the jobs for contractors to bid on, show he won about 10 jobs from the site and the feedback score is a 100% positive for him, so I should be ok

Are we talking pounds sterling or Polish zlotys?

I'm a plasterer n I'd charge £150 for that. Snap the bloke hand off at £80 if he's good like his feed back says! People put prices down to get jobs these days that be why he's cheap doesn't mean he's shit!

Day rate for a good plasterer is £150-200. half a days work plus approx £30 materials. If the ceiling is artexed it will need scraping and preparing so could take longer

well I will find out on Saturday how good or bad he is, he is all booked up for Saturday morning 9AM so I will have to risk life and limb taking down the light fitting and cord switch just about to put my DIY plumbing skills to the test see if I can remove the radiator without flooding the place pmsl, bathroom refurbishment going along nicely or I hope it does as I am loading it on to youtube in stages from start to finish

The plasterer could have as many goes as needed but would only get paid for one perfect job in my place. Minus inconvenience costs to us.
