There you are happily munching away on your lunch/dinner then bam out of nowhere that familiar taste, it makes your face scrunch and screw up prior to sticking your tongue out in disgust.

So which taste really would put you off your food.

Mine is mustard, I almost gave up mash potato because some genius invented mustard mash - cruel &¥*€%€*

Did you ever have black sambuca prior to the hatred starting. That's pure evil. Also whoever did the flavouring for Night Nurse should be sacked.

my taste buds are changing as I'm getting older, which is a good thing I hated mustard but, my pallett is liking it slowly but surely.

One thing I can't stand though is pickle!

Excess chilli. If I want chilli, I'll eat chilli - why does to have to find it's way into every other food on the planet all of a sudden!?

"Vinegar or ginger... Double bleurgh!"

I gather you don't fancy pickled ginger then.

Personally mashed potato but I'm not sure how much is due to taste, texture or child memories of being forced to it eat it at least three times a week.

The secret of mustard mash is for the mustard not to overpower the potatoes but to add warmth. If you were to leave the skins in the mash, it would taste much better.

For me it's onion misuse. Onions are very useful. Either in really tasty dishes, or in cheap frozen burgers so they can use as little meat as possible, and that grinds my gears

Mayo is something I largely detest, so finding it in a sandwich is yuck. Anchovies are rank too, but not too widespread. That mustard in jars is horrible, thanks for the reminder above, though real mstard is tasty.

Cucumbers....can taste it even if I've taken the buggers out of a sandwich, which doesn't advertise that there are cucumbers in it!!
