I've never heard that element as Liverpool were formed following a split at Everton. Religion was never a factor | |||

Same goes for Liverpool. Glasgow Celtic were formed to allow anyone to play due to the selective policy of Rangers until relatively recently. Edinburgh to an extent have the same situation with Hibs and Hearts. Not to sure about Bristol city and Rovers | |||
