folk have spent thousands going there to support them and have every right to boo that shit,

dont think many of the fans get 70 odd grand a week wayne u get,

This is one of the reasons why I don't follow the England football team.

Numpties that sit there for 90 minutes in their jester hats & face paint, getting giddy when they see their face on the big screen, and not only failing to get behind the team, but also booing them off afterwards AND then claiming some sort of moral right to do so based on expenditure.

A further reason will be the tabloid press's reaction tomorrow morning.

as in he gets that from club level.. and the normal fan works in factorys etc etc to save dosh up to go down there, they dont need money for playing 4 there country, most would give there right nut to play in that shirt

I watched tonight's game. I was left wondering a few things from both the manager and the players...

Where was the passion, the sense of pride you should get by wearing the 3 lions on your chest, the desire to win, the willingness to work harder than your opponent from the first whistle to the last, the commitment or the creativity?

It was a lacklustre performance by pretty much the entire team to say the least.

If it had been a friendly game then I would have been more charitable. However, this wasn't a pre-season warm-up game. In case the players had forgotten, they're in the knockout stage of the World Cup, and they only got 1 point out of the game against the USA. They were playing a team who, on paper, they should have walked over from the 1st minute.

As it is, the Algerian players and fans should feel proud that they managed to get a draw against England, as it was richly deserved. The Algerians didn't play the most beautiful football I've ever seen, but I always knew that they'd be playing to not lose - a draw was a good outcome for them, but it wasn't a good result for England.

I normally dislike the way the tabloids will pick on someone and make them a scapegoat, but I think that tomorrow's papers will be blaming the entire team rather than just one individual. After tonight's performance, I think such criticism would be justified.

I had hoped that the match against USA was going to be the wake up call that the England squad needed - let's hope tonight's result will have the effect that the previous game didn't.

And lets face it, we have so many foreign players in our leagues that we have no real pool to draw from! About time we started looking after our own and stopped clubs buying in from outside the UK!

If Rooney wasn't prepared to do his job (which for the last 20 minutes it was fecking obvious he wasn't) he should have been taken off.

I don't like to see our national squad on the receiving end of boos.... but I can empathise with the fans.

Think the fans need to wake up and smell the coffee too, Wayne is only one man, there's 11 in a team, and he certainly didn't pick his team mates that are all failing miserably to supply him with the ball. FFS even Terry Butcher would do a better job than that cappello halfwit, any decent manager would have changed formation after the first half although the players probably dont understand a word he says anyway as he can hardly speak a word of english.

FC didn't just make up the formation on the night... it's been working in practice.

Just before the half time whistle I said they should count how many the other side have on the field - I swear they have a few extra as every time we have possession there are 3 of their guys on one of ours and yet when they are in possession they have at least 3 men open and unmarked.

Even though there was a lift in the second half, there was a general lack of hunger for the ball and Rooney in the last quarter not only didn't look hungry for the ball... he looked like he'd just started a diet! He was fecking standing still watching the ball get passed around him… you can’t blame FC for Rooney’s strop.

Now bearing in mind I know very little about football, although I do know an attractive footballer when I see one!, is it at all possible that what England fans are witnessing on the pitch is the product of a ridiculously long season we have in England?

I read today that top players in England play far more matches in a season than in many other countries?

Are they simply knackered?

they may well play too many matches but for the money these so called players are on they should play every day of the week

I'll make my position on sport clear! If it involves either footballs, cricket balls or rugby balls. Snooker balls, darts and many other items.... OK, if it doesn't have an engine I am not really interested! (btw.. F1 is not a fav either!)

The way I see it, I don't need to be a member of a tribe! That said, I can understand why people get so heated and feel really sorry that the team has let them down. I still ask, what do you expect when you have a Manager who has no allegiance to England? Whose national side is also looking to do well in the competition!

No doubt about it!!!

I don't know why people are so envious of others. Personally I think it's daft paying someone hundred and thousands a week to kick a ball but I wouldn't say no if it were offered to me.

The salaries of Wayne Rooney et al isn't coming out of my pocket!!! If fans want to waste their hard earned dosh on stadium tickets, more fool them.

I'm more concerned with the healthy, lazy people on benefits who I have to support!!

frustration,led to rooneys remarks.i have said before.the tabloid press, build them up,then take great joy,in knocking them down again.unfortunately some players seem to believe that press,and seem surprised,how hard other teams try against them.england have a team,capable of winning the world cup.but not the mentality.
