So I know the fab happy hookers are growing in number and I've asked before if there's any other crafty folk about and there was so what are you all currently working on??

I've got a few WIP's at the moment.

A huge star shaped blanket for my son in red, white and blue.

A grey and blue corner to corner pram blanket for a friend

A pink/purple v stitch blanket for my niece

And a blanket that's made up of 120 Maybelle flowers stitched together for my nan for Xmas..

Just finished two baby blankets for family members who are pregnant. Today I've taught myself, thanks to youtube, how to do loads of new stitches and make 3D flowers!

Think I may have a night of crocheting tonight!

Wow I wish I could crochet.

I've just finished knitting a short sleeved cardigan with sequins for myself. I've got 2 knitted papoose's for sale. I really need to start making some Christmas cards though.

I'm teaching myself new crochet stitches and making scarves.

Last week I made a fan pattern scarf, this week I'm working on a tiara pattern one. Next project will be a string bag.

How did you do the flower? I did one where you crochet it into a long strip then wrap it around and stitch it. I made a huge one for my niece and that's just reminded me I need to do another one for my mums infinity scarf I made her x

Yeah might just do that in a couple of weeks.

For knitting you need only learn two stitches knit and purl. You can make some very pretty patterns using just those two stitches. Enjoy. X

Once you've done the first layer of petals you link chains of 3 into the back then if you're going another layer you link chains of 4 into the back. Its a mixture of single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet and triple crochet as well as chains!

Used to crochet and knit all the time. My girls seldom wore shop bought knitwear. Recently started again, struggling with the tension. Trying to make baby blanket, jacket, bonnet and booties.

My daughter has been married two years, so practising for when she tells me she's pregnant!

Here's my dumb question of the day... is crochet a bit like making loom bands? Or more difficult?

I can't knit... wondered if crochet was easier.

Its not totally dissimilar. There are some brilliant tutorials on YouTube. You don't have the loom itself obviously, but you use the same hook. I started off by learning a granny square courtesy of TD when we were in Prestatyn.

It's much easier and you've only got one hook instead of 2 needles. I'm useless at craft stuff and I picked it up really quickly x

Absolutely pants at knitting and crocheting, but getting back into my other crafting. Playing about with ideas for good friends who have just had a new baby and moved house, thinking of making a box frame with scrabble letters arranged to spell out the family members names.

Wish I could crochet, 12 year old step daughter has just finished a beautiful hat!!

I can't do knitting because I make the stitches too tight. I think I have anger issues where wool is concerned. I'm going to give it a go.

You have to do some counting but there's only one stitch to drop and unraveling if you make a mistake is easy.

And you can crochet and watch tv or talk so it's quite companionable.

I have started knitting and I started with very tight stitches but I'm gradually getting better. Which is better though, knitting or crochet?

I love to crochet. I made so much stuff when I was pregnant. It really kept my mind off my worries.

I currently have a granny square afghan and some bunting in progress. I think the afghan will take years!

For knitting beginners I would recommend you buy knitting cotton cast on 30 stitches work 30 rows cast off and then you've got either a face cloth or a dish cloth. Simple quick and fun.

I (shel!) love all crafts - much better with my hands than my brain.

Not do good at knitting but a patient taught me how to crochet and I live making cards. Doing scrap booking, decoupage and even decorating on a big style.

However my main love I've now turned into a business part time and that's cake making. Opened my business a year ago and it's both the best and worse thing I've done x
