I like a lot, but these stand out for different reasons:

Early Doors for being such a well realised observational.

Nightingales for being totally surreal and with such a good cast.

Friday Night Dinner for making such a well worn situation refreshingly funny.

As for Monty Python, I'm not a fan. I feel that they are overrated.

Phoenix Nights is good, there are a lot of things in the background that you miss first time round. Notices on walls, or things on tshirts.

To be honest, my favourite comedy isn't even British.

The Phil Silver's Show. Frenetic pacing, Phil Silver's sense of timing, a script by Nat Hiken who is some kind of genius and the most bizarre situation seeming to be the most natural and logical event.

Onlys fools and horses and porridge were by far the best but there were many other good british comedys made back then including the likes of, open all hours, fawlty towers, etc but these days the only ones that come any near the likes of those are inbetweeners and mrs browns boys.

I really enjoyed watching Harry Enfield and Chums when i was a teenager and then later on the Fast show which had some of the same faces from Harry Enfield and Chums

One not so well known programme i also liked was "Game On" with Samantha Janus when she was a lot younger. Series one was by far the best and funniest, the later series they changed one of the main character actors and it just was'nt as good as the 1st series.

I felt that Going Straight was pretty weak. The situation wasn't constrained and so the idea of little victories didn't work well.

Red Dwarf has some episodes that are better than others, but it isn't that bad. Some episodes are in fact very good.

my ex house mate loved it had the boxsets etc i only ever found 1 funny that's the One filmed backwards
