Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Dispatches has been looking at the cost of shopping.

I was surprised to learn that the big four supermarkets make a huge loss on internet food shopping: it costs them about £15 for each shop.

Shopping around for individual items saves money but costs you time.

Do you shop around or stick to the traditional model of a big shop once a week from the same place?

I swap and change, predominately tesco and M&S but I have a local lidl which I use too.

Depends if I fancy a drive out (bored) or stay local (lazy)

I watched it too and feel like doing a click and collect just to spite them lol

I go to the same one every week. I don't like food shopping but I have changed as I found the one I go to now cheaper than the one I used to go to - and I did that without naming names lol

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Up here, whichever way I go, I'm a 15 mile drive to a supermarket, so no I don't shop around.

I don't often internet shop for groceries either as I like to see what I am buying. We buy quite a lot, local and fresh. Cheap isn't always best, and for bulk buys, I'm a costco fan

I shop around for big things but not for normal shopping. I just buy things when I need them, never do a 'big shop'. I don't buy enough to do supermarket shopping online.

When Rob goes back to work all our meat will come from Smithfields too

I had a similar feeling. I don't shop online but now that I have seen that they are paying you to shop that way it seems daft not to. It doesn't seem worth it for my few bits though.

I get roughly the same shit whenever I go shopping. Some I get from Tesco, some from Lidl & some from Sainsburys. All are within a 10 min walk so it works out well that I can split the load I have to carry

I don't like online shopping, just never got on with it, guess i like to see what i am buying, sainsburys is our main supermarket and aldi just opened x

We have found the cheapest way for us is to hit our preferred supermarkets (Asda, Aldi and Farmfoods) about once every month to stock up, although we do sometimes leave it 2 months before we go, to allow us to clear the cupboards and freezer completely. Fresh obviously gets bought as and when required, along with bread and milk, although we do freeze a small amount of that too.

tried it but cost me more in petrol and parking fees . if im passing any of the places ill nip in but wont go out of my way to shop around x

I go once a week when my dad takes me . End up morrisons or sainsbury as that's where he goes but prefer aldi as much cheaper

I go to Tesco once every 8 days (fits in with my shift pattern) and get everything I need then. I don't tend to shop around, as my time is more valuable than the saving I'd make.

We stock up in various places; Lidl, Aldi, Farmfoods, Costco. They all have their uses when ASDA is taking the piss.

I have a few places that I go to. I go to a supermarket for my main shop, the fruit and veg shop, butchers, wilkos for my toiletries and Boots for my own bath stuff, moisturiser and hair products

I have no supermarket loyalty and since I have every one except a Booths neat me (north Yorkshire supermarket chain, rather nice stuff) I go to wherever I fancy or I'm driving past or is particularly good for what I want.

I like Asda for clothes, lidl and aldi for fruit and veg, charcuterie and meat (great steaks at aldi) and waitrose for speciality ingredients.

Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsburys if I'm near and for fuel.

I collect Tesco and nectar points and spend them on big purchases and I get Morrison's fuel points and save the vouchers for Christmas treats.

I like Booths - it's like the Waitrose of the north.

Oh do like a bargin! So do tend to shop around and can get cleaning stuff and toiletries much cheeper eleswhere than just stickin to the supermarkets

Look after the coppers and the £'s look after themselves ( so my Mum used ta say!)

I rarely do big shops as I find it tedious. I shop around fairly well and also look for cashback via the specialist cashback sites for many purchases. Missed dispatches but had meant to watch it.

no I just buy everything from the same place, bar my dog food, I don't think the price difference is that much to make it worth going to different shops for different things, i don't shop online except for my dog food i get that delivered as 15 kilo sacks are just to heavy to be carrying about
