Just about ANY film is better than the remake.

If a film is crap - then no one tries to remake.

If a film is great then a remake is made but normally is pointless and never as good....

Total recall is a prime example. Yes newer effects were better but the acting was just so wooden and no atmosphere at all...

I just can't agree with that, Len Wiseman's take on the film is much darker and industrial than the shines pseudo futurist images of the Schwarzeneger version of he 90's. I personally enjoyed both versions and think that the two films are so different that you could watch them back to back and enjoy them both.

The remake of Gone in 60 seconds was better than the original in spite of Nick Cage starring but the original has the best car chase ever filmed
