I like people who have mileage but have managed to make good of it too. It's easy to be smart and boring (and also still naive). It takes something else to be smart, and to stay positive with an open mind.

I don't find it a turn on and I don't necessarily think someone highly intelligent is better either. I'd rather find someone I'm comfortable with than someone who makes me feel stupid. As someone else has already mentioned, for me, life experience is far more interesting

I know this site is all about advertising your assets but I can't help but feel a bit British about all this trumpet blowing. There are some things best left for other people to decide...and whether you're intelligent is probably one of them imo

If you were really intelligent surely you wouldn't be walking into the room saying "look at me I'm intelligent"...surely you'd be keeping quiet, having a look round, and just mingling until you got a chance to shine...again just my opinion

Looks always play a part in attraction but i would say that for me, the intelligence factor plays an equal part. Finding a guy that I'm attracted to physically and meets me on an intellectual level at the same time can make me all warm And squishy.

But how are you measuring intellect?

Paul to me is incredibly intelligent, he can answer maths problems instantly he knows a good variety on numerous subjects but he has very little common sense.

Compared to him I'm a right thicko! And have what he calls "shellyisms" when I say something stupid.

However compared to some others I'm intelligent, I know what I know. In both of my careers I have learnt everything I need to know and beyond, I ensure I'm good at both of my jobs. 1 of them being my own business - I'm intelligent enough to run my own business successfully. But shove a maths question under my nose and a calculator has to come out.

So intelligence is only measured well when you measure it against others...

Paul's more intelligent than I am but I'm a lot more intelligent than many others

I scored 141. One site I once read had anything over 140 as genius level, but I actually scored under 130 on that sites test, so I don't know how reliable self testing really is.

Intelligence is a turn on for me. I've never met someone who is 'over-intelligent' to quote a previous poster either; wit comes in many forms and there's nothing wrong with geeky in my book. the most 'intelligent' people are those that can read and respond to other people to a high degree.people who keep you on your toes with cheeky comments(that arent aimed to hurt or belittle)...unfortunately some people think their intelligence gives them the right to use it negatively upon those deemed 'less' intelligent.

To my knowledge, many that are considered 'extremely' intelligent may also have personality problems in their interactions with others.

To me there is a difference between being intelligent and being a smart arse. I much prefer someone who will listen during a discussion, but when they speak - the way they say it and the content makes everyone else pause and listen. Listening is a quality I value. Rather than those, who are clever, but know it and want to beat everyone else over the head with how clever they are.

The enigmatic, down to earth, quietly confident geek - that's the one I'll find sexy.

I think social/emotional intelligence is what I find sexy. It's not necessarily about a level of education but just being able to hold an interesting conversation, have an opinion and stimulate the mind.

Have never seen so many geniuses in one place

Some of my favourite people are not too bright but they know it. They're funny, self deprecating and fun to be around.

Some of the people I know who think they're clever are in reality not clever enough to recognise they're not so clever. They don't make such good company.

Overall I prefer a good personality, except in a doctor.

Intelligence is a complex quality thats more of a range of abilities really imo. You can be able to do highly complex mathematical formulae in your head and devoid of empathy nor able to love and care for others in abundance etc. If your partner cant understand you somehow, then it may be innate abilities or lack of experience, but if you cant share intelligible communication, whoever is brightest, then it is tough and not alluring. I dont find intelligence itself attractive, but coupled with other matched attractiveness then it can improve it. Id favour someone who instinctively knows how to be warm and thoughtful more important usually.

An intelligent man will always make sure he uses his most sensual gifts to get interest in himself so the answer must be yes.

Ignorance & stupidity isn't attractive or sexy, but intelligence alone doesn't make a person sexy, but it's certainly part of the package.

There is a lot of truth in that intelligence on its own won't necessarily make someone sexy but the lack of it can hamper people in _xpressing themselves to others.

One person's intelligent is another persons dimwit. I think it's all about finding someone you connect with mentally but I guess if all you want is a fuck, it doesn't matter.
