So the original Becks thinks England have gone back to the bad old days of Kick & Rush...

I dunno who the fook Kick is but Rush is Welsh and has never played for England! - silly arse!

What's the difference between Rob Green's spill and BP's spill?

Robert Green has got a cap for his.

The Kaiser is right though....I made the same comments while I was watching the match.

We qualified by playing some decent stuff, but that performance on Saturday was utter shite.

If Rooney is man marked, we don't perform, and we need to take the chances that we create.

Hope we are better next game. I am very dissappointed with our lads

Der Kaiser isn't wrong, England have been poor outside qualifying for months now and the performance against the USA was again poor.

As the BBC panel keep telling us possession is key at this level but England look to get rid of the ball at the earliest opportunity.

All England wanted to do was punt the ball high up to Heskey who is basically a lump of wood at best.

Listen to Seedorf - he knows what he's talking about.

I wish Darren Fletcher was English

I'd put him in midfield with Lampard and play Gerard and Rooney up front.

I think Gerard or Rooney would have put that chance away, that Heskey missed

Totally agree re: Heskey.

One of the sports channels analysed his England performances and in a one-to-one against the keeper, Heskey rarely scores, he simply blasts it straight at the goalie. Yes, he got England's 5th against Germany one-to-one against the keeper, but let's face it, anyone could have scored against Germany that night lol.

Beckenbauer was strangely quiet after that stuffing in his own back yard hehehe

Darren Fletcher is the only shining light in the Scotland set up. Just shows you how a good manager can make you a good player with the right mentality.

Really i don't know what any manager sees in Heskey, am i missing something here?

Theo Walcott should had been there instead.

Not sure about Walcott myself. I think Wright Philips is a better player, has more "end product".

I think Capello's dropped a major bollock with our central defenders though.

The team is too quiet, only Terry is directing, and thats why Rooney gets sidetracked if he's out of the game. Garry Neville would have been a good addition to the squad cos he's a bossy fooker and keeps the team wound up. He should be there with Becks.

I too think Neville should have been in the england party if only as a gee-up to the current crop of defenders. I don't know the rules are regarding assistants/coaches etc but he would have been a great support for the defence contingent.

I'd have taken Dawson from Spurs and Bent from Sunderland too. Both on form and playing regularly - er.. wasn't that a Capello stipulation for inclusion?

Yeah, Bent can play the Heskey role, and he scores more goals.

There was a caller to Talksport at the weekend who said that there are goalkeepers at the world cup who have scored more international goals than Camel Heskey

It's fooking true though, it's not a joke

Its fine knocking Heskey but didn't he provide the ball for Gerrard? Heskey isn't perfect but he wasn't the worst player by a long way.

I recognise what he does by way of provision but he's not an up front striker. He should play midfield, and stay there lol.

He provides an outlet and he did win every ball hoofed to him. I don't care if we play ugly as long as we win and Heskey isn't perfect but i don't see him playing every game either.

The problem is they didn't win and Heskey had a glorious chance to win it.

No they didn't but you could also look at it as if he hadn't played they may have lost.

Heskey wasn't the worst player on our team, but then again no one excelled did they?

We were too one dimensional on Saturday, but Heskey only plays one way. He's like a bulldozer, and yes, he can be affective against some teams, but the biggest gripe I've got against him is that he can't score the vital goals. IF he had scored, one of the chances that fell to him, he would be a hero, but he does the same week in week out in club football.

If England don't win this group they have serious problems.

On paper it looks one of the easiest groups and i would expect them to win it. I would be wanting them to finish as runners though so they could play Germany if they win their group

So it appears he is selected for his provision-play and if he gets the odd goal then that's a bonus. I'm fine with that, but it's just so maddeningly frustrating to see an golden opportunity to win a match and the ball at the feet of a man who just cannot bear down on a keeper and slot the ball away.

I think you'll find that Sir Alex Ferguson carries nobody in his squad. If Fletcher is in the Man U team then he's there on merit. And that applies to the Scottish squad too. I'd agree that a few years ago he was very much hit and miss, but he's come good these past two seasons and proved invaluable to Utd.
