Depends, if its one of my friends they tend to have loads in so I just take an extra bottle of what I drink. Or I might take a bottle of something different for others to try

We take what we like but are not precious about it. A good friend always says if you put it down at a party you must be prepared to share so always buying more than you will want and its good advice.

I was thinking more of the other party goers.

Pernod and whiskey are vile though im with you there.

Depends. Family parties (I only mention because the OP doesn't specifically mention swinging parties) I will take my own and one extra.

However, I have been to a friend's party where I didn't really know anyone and took mine and one extra only to have all of it d*unk before I could touch it by people who turned up with nothing, which I find extremely rude.

So depending on the situation, I might bring extra or I might bring my own and hide it.

My sister-in-law is awful for that. Will turn up with lemonade or a bottle of Blossom Hill but she won't touch it because she's too busy helping herself to and getting pissed on your bottle of prosecco.

I've gotten pissed off many times before with people taking fuck all then hammering my bottle of jack Daniels. So now I take a bottle of wine or something for the booze table and stash my JD for me. (Do happily share with others that I know and aren't taking the piss though)

Bring your own beers - hide them in the washing machine or something so you don't have to carry them all night and nobody half-inches them.
