We're with Virgin. Always good, speed is exactly what you're told it is and customer service has always been really good when I've needed it.

Virgin. I'm on the 100mb plan and regularly see speeds in excess of 106mbps and there'sa free speed increase on its way.

so far I've no complaints the service has been 99% fault free.

I am in the process of switching from Sky to BT. My kids are most interested in speed and consistent connection and they asked around their friends who all said BT. I have since heard horror stories so we shall see but nothing could be worse than the poo I have had from Sky this last year.

When we lived in Kent we had Virgin and it was awesome. The speed almost exactly matched the advertised speed (for our package). I suspect BT's Fibre optic broadband would be the same but I've not had any experience with it. We're on Sky now and it's a reasonable connection for ADSL. Basically if you're on ADSL and have a poor line or are far from the exchange then the chances are swapping to another provider will make little difference.

Was virgin, now sky, might be going back now 13 months are up and the excellent deal I got from sky has finished.

Basically, Sky telly is best, BB is ropey. Virgin are expensive but the current deals they have on are comparable to sky and their BB is excellent. It's looking like basic virgin tv with 100mb BB and a now tv box or Netflix bolted on (and a few downloads from dubious sites to fill in the gaps)

BT Infinity 2. Still yet to see anywhere near advertised speeds and can at times have intermittent disconnections. Only just available in my area and seems to be having initial problems.

Currently BT Infinity - 86Mb download. Not had any problems with it.

Previously had NtL (now Virgin) - no problems with that either.

we're with BT and it is fucking shite. Generally get about 600kbps download and 250 upload. They really don't give a fuck because they know whoever you go with it will be as bad. Luckily the cost of mobile broadband is coming down and our contract is up in September.

Cable is best if you're in a cable area.

Otherwise, Plusnet are good.

Round here cable is really poor so back to talk talk as reliability is far more of an issue than outright speed for us.

BT Infinity fibre optic too and it has been fabulous since day 1. Live a long way from the exchange so standard dsl loses speed but fibre is delivered to almost the doorstep, so speed maintained. Look for cashback deals on cashback sites for switching to other broadband companies. Take the same broadband provider youd want anyway and gain the cashback on top. There are 2 good cashback websites in the uk so worth looking at for all online purchases with retailers and service providers.

That's what we're going to do. I've ordered lots of different free sims to see what reception is like.

12-15 Mbps here on EE (compared to BT at less than 2!)

Even 3G gets 4-6
