When sending a message and they reply with,

Lol

Thank you

XXX

Where do you go from there, I tend to leave at that but I don't want them to think am ignoring them, I don't really start conversations even when its to "friends" and with the amount of messages Women/couples receive each day it would only get lost,

Or is it just your way of ending the conversation,

What do you do

I sometimes reply too messages in the same way. It is a polite way of (hopefully) not getting a reply if I am not too keen on them.

It's hard to really start a convocation based on that kind of reply.

I've had them in the past and usually taken it as them not being interested. So I never pursued it further. Fair enough I may have missed out in genuine opportunities. But if they were interested I feel I would have gotten more back.

That's how I see it any way

Its a way I have ended a few convos (well, rather replied to a first message along the lines of 'nice pics/tatts/pussy/profile'), without the guy thinking I am ignoring him. Its usually a reply to a guy who is clearly outside what I am looking for, and I don't want to take the convo any further.

"its a way of ending a conversation."

Really ?

I've replied to messages like that in the past, to a message that might have just said "nice pics"

If their interested and you are too, a little banter works wonders if find . .

It is for me. If I want to continue a conversation I will actively engage with a person not use a closed answer.

thank you,is just a shortened version of.

come on over and shag till your hearts content.

then I'll finish you of with a gammy (swallowing is my speciality).

So as replies go,they don't get any better than,

thank you.

Uh complicated.

In my case it usually means thank you, but your message didn't inspire me to want to start a conversation, although sometimes it means I'm not interested.

Usually if I am not interested I'll say no thanks, or words to that effect.

However, some guys start with an approach that is just a comment or just a question. It's not easy to say I'm not interested in talking further when you can't be sure if it is just a comment or question, (it's usually not though). Thank you maybe expresses 'I don't want to take this further' without assuming they do and without being rude.

I've also adapted to saying some form of 'thank you, however if you were hoping to chat or meet then sorry, I'm not interested' if I can phrase it reasonably in response to the message.

Sometimes closed replies from me mean that wasn't worth replying to but if you'd like to give me something I can respond to, we can talk. Sometimes they mean I don't want to be rude but I don't want to encourage you.

So, like I said, complicated

Really only half a story here, did you send a closed message that could only receive a closed reply?

So if a friend ends a message in lol, then it's game over?

If it is a first message that I reply to in that style it usually means I am being polite but not interested.

If it someone I have spoken to before/friends, it usually means their message gave me no other response and I am hoping for something more from them. For example: 'Nice new pic'. Not really a conversation opener. The only response really is 'Thanks', and then hope for something I can be more responsive to

In answer to the op, I would have asked them what made them lol. This could have led to some more conversation and maybe we could have both ended up r o l f or even pmsl, but I wouldn't have left it there.

Given that I don't send preemptive messages this comes to you....
