Started the lower half yesterday and can honestly say I nearly passed out with the pain lol!!!

I love full sleeves, just had a phoenix done on my shoulder, 6 hours of utter excruciating pain! The colouring was horrific! Love it though.

i think what makes it worse is not only is it quite a sensitive area anyway you have to sit with your arm over your head for 2 hours at a time, by the time the sitting had finished my arm was numb and i had to lift it off my head with my other hand happy days

I (mr) am on with a lower leg sleeve and have just had my shin done, its going on everything from my knee to my toes so theres a few more sittings and a few cringes left yet

i noticed that, i have some cover ups and noticed it hurt more, i mentioned it and was told its because they are re tattooing scare tissue so does hurt more, people never tell you these things till after

plenty of food before a tattoo has always made things better for me, iv had over 24 hours in sessions on my back including all way down my spine and could tell the difference on full belly to empty

Just take a few cans of red bull and a few bars of chocalate as the constant pain although not unbearable gets sore because it's constant and can make you very week. Don't go for more than three hours as it's usually after 2& a half that I'm begging for it to end lol!!!!

None of my arm work has ever been too bad, the full back piece had some gnarly moments and the chest got bad close to the nipples!

All tattoo's hurt.

What differs between us is our pain thresholds, whilst a certain area may hurt for one person may not hurt at all for another. We are all different, because of this everbodys pain endurance differs. My sleeve goes as far down to the palm of my hand and right into my arm pit.

For me the biggest pain area was across my arterial vein towards my palm, and I had the elbow done in the same day and it just didn't compare at all. My sleeve had 36 hours work in total which I sat in 6 hour sittings.

If your looking to numb pain a little try a cream called EMLA available from your local chemist, designed specifically for tattooing

Also eat plenty and drink plenty.

It's also really annoying when, you find an artist you love.... And can no longer use them, as is your case!

Im getting one designed by my artist for my thigh at the moment. Countess bathory in a bath of blood surrounded by murdered women chained to a wall and moonlight coming through a window reflecting off the blood I have a full back piece of the priest from the exorcist being burned at the stake surrounded by demonic nuns with demon cherubs and other gothic images all in shades of black

It hasn't been the worst part believe it or not, the inside sensitive part of the elbow was a bitch and still more work needed there which I'm not looking forward too
