My old friend...

Just back from a Simon & Garfunkel tribute night...Sound of Silence was better than the original...had a lovely night with a good pack of mates and we sang (under our breath) for every song...

What's your fave S&G tune?

My mate thought that Kathys song was better than the original...it was fab but Sou d of Silence was better in my opinion - having said that, the entire evening was bloody awesome and their voices/guitar playing were totes amazeballs as they say on some reality show

I love all the S&G songs because I can sing and play them. Kathy's Song is my pièce de résistance. It has a lovely effect on women

Scarborough Fare or I am a rock.

Or Mrs Robinson. Come to think of it it's probably Cecilia. My first inclination that you can make love to two people in the same afternoon.

Funny you should say that...I was in company with 2 swingers, an ex swinger and my mate's bloke who knows I'm a swinger - there were a lot of smirks on our table when that line was sung

Google Tim Chu and Ian Bailey...if you get chance to see them they are excellent (and don't wear naff wigs to try to look like S&G) but they sure sing and play guitar amazingly well

Titz Towers, North Notts

Sound of Silence.

Concert in Central Park is a brill LP.

I think some tribute bands are better than the original artists, as they seem to put more effort into pleasing the crowd, rather than resting on having been big in the 70s.

Bridge over Troubled Waters was played at a very close friends funeral. I cannot hear it without bawling my eyes out. She died 15 years ago and I still miss her very much.

It's amazing after so many years songs can still have that effect on us. Every time I hear I am a Rock it reminds me off my dad and brings a tear to the eye.
