It has arrived here - huge cracks of thunder after the lightning. It looks rather strange against the sunrise.

HOWEVER, there's some corckers buliding up over France and one of 'em coming ashore in E Sussex / Kent right now... that too is lightening-tastic by the look of it.

Started down here just after midnight with large white rolling clouds, plenty of lightening. Spent the rest of the night on the settee with a very scared dog. Now its very muggy so the fan is on, it did save me having to water the garden (him).

just before 3 am here it was - really loud thunder lots of lightning - lasted over an hour in all - me sat by the open patio doors absolutely loving it - knackered now and got to go to work

Not at all. In face, for some reason they rush to meet you. I think it's a bit like the storm chasers. They know it may be dangerous but they can't resist the risk.
