I've only twice seen a lady from a distance and thought she looked like a man in a dress.

Both times it turned out to be a man in a dress.

Some girls do, some girls don't. Some girls need a lot of loving and some look more androgynous, as so some men, and some look a little man-like in a frock.

Some TVs look more womanly in a dress than I ever could.

On many occasions, it would be (and is)a refreshing change to see a woman in a dress, preferably stylish and feminine.

Been told I look stunning in a dress but prefer jeans and tee personally but even then I still look like a woman. Must say the androgynous look on the right woman is as horny as hell!! (Especially when they are wearing a strap on)

I don't think I have any butch dresses. I love a frock. I have about 30+ for day wear. I must cure this habit of seeing a dress and buying it.

Double standards exist here and elsewhere, they sometimes work in favour of women and sometimes in favour of men. I hate it but all any of us can do is ensure that we are consistent in our repsonse to men and women.

Hypocrisy is hypocrisy. It does not matter who perpetrates it. It is wrong.

It undermines many good arguments in favour of equality when the party shouting for equality acts in a discriminatory fashion.

It must be called out and exposed at every turn.

I may well look like a man in a dress, I'll live with that but I would like it if people also see I'm trying to look my best and have a certain style, whatever that may be. When I'm out I just love seeing just how much effort and time Somme ladies take in their appearance. Well done to all the fantastic ladies

There was an interesting bit of research featured on the one off Kirsty Wark made on sexism.

Men who are sexist/misogynistic find sexist jokes funny and the fact that it is "jokes" reinforces the sexism and makes them more sexist as it validates their thoughts.

I am consistent in challenging both sexes and admit to my own flaws when I fail.

It is strange that any discussion on misandristic women very quickly gets turned into one about misogynistic men. It seems very hard to have a discussion about misandry where discussions on misogyny are commonplace.

Okay, so staying with the OP and ignoring the OPs latter social experiment statement (Scarlet you cheeky monkey!).

Looking like a lady / looking feminine is more than just a snapshot visual of the woman concerned. Movement is a massive distinction, posture as well. My sister has always slouched for example. Then look at the way different women walk. I would suggest that with correct movement and posture that a not so attractive woman could gain points

Movement is a massive thing to try to get the hang of. Some people are very heavy on their feet. I was at a TG event the other month and one of the girlys walked as if she was carry a big bag of coal on each shoulder. She was really stomping her feet down and it spoilt her look, as she looked good otherwise.

I'm finding it a learning curve, a bit of a steep one. I once spent a week practicing a feminine walk (not mincing, but walking like a lass - tutorials on youtube) only to go on a night out and be seen by a friend who pointed out I still had to work on my walk. Damn you Scarlet!

I think it probably is. My natural drab walk is a stride, almost a march and looking like you've just come off a parade ground when you're glammed up doesn't help you.

If you watch how the different sexes stand, walk, move their hands when they talk, hunch their shoulders, it can all be a clue as to gender.

"So if you're a straight man who has sex with a woman who looks like a man, does that mean you're kidding yourself and you're actually bi/gay? "

What if they are men in dresses that look like women that look like men?

Pmsl I've feckin heard it all now !! WTF

Well apparently you can be straight if the man looks enough like a woman, just wondered if it worked the other way.

Good thinking - I'm with you on that one then . So how are your moves? Posture looks good on pics, can the animated Jodie walk the walk "

"Some women are stunning and look great, but some just look like a man in a dress.

Agree? Disagree? Discuss...."

No I rarely think a woman looks like a man in a dress ok some are munters but some men are too but a man in a dress always has a slight ball aroma going.

Some people have genetic and hormonal mixes that means not everyone is going to look like a porn star, in the traditional sense. Just find who you are attracted to, and have sensitivity to those who are not so well blessed as you would like them to be. Diversity is good for the species.

Not many women wear dresses these days, how can you give a comparison? Although we have seen a moustached guy in a dress!

I remember when a gang of us were involved with a carnival and the ladies all dressed up in burlesque outfits.

Amazingly one of the ladies ended up looking very much like an aging transvestite.

Not sure if that's rude to old people or transvestites.. or both...
