Heatwaves means thunderstorms, suffocating at night and having panic attacks, birds flying in open windows and swollen joints. But I'm not complaining....water fights!!!!

"Only in this contry will u get over paid no bodys issuing this crap"
it is part of emergency measures put in place after thousands of people died in the Uk and Europe over the last decade. As ever, if it is info of no interest, then it can be ignored. Those with poor health, the elderly etc are vulnerable, so it is better to know in advance, rather than lose loved ones.

The heatwave in France 2003 is on record as one of the biggest disasters they ever faced because a lot of people died, especially in hospitals, as a result of lack of air conditioning.

It doesn't take much to realise that the UK is more concerned about heating than A/C and as a result the very young, middle aged and elderly are at serious risk; one reason why heatwaves come with warnings, because the met office isn't always right about the weather, how hot it will be or for how long.
