Yesterday I saw a very attractive woman on cam. You know the sexy girl next door look?? She definitely got my attention. Had a look at her profile. Omg. Negatvity!! No this don't like that I hate this.

I know it's her profile yadda yadda yadda. But was very off putting.

I agree with you OP. I think negativity attracts negativity. I am quite an optimistic person, glass half full etc. would rather list what I want and can offer. But as someone will undoubtably say, it's her profile. So it's her choice. But it's our choice to pass these profiles by.

She probably had enough of telling men the same thing over and over and over. For example: No,I don't do car sex; no I don't do outdoor sex ; no I won't fuck you upstairs while your wife waits in the living room; no I don't do anal etc etc. Doesn't matter what positive things you write on your profile for the majority of men those are the questions they want the answers to. After a while you get fed up answering them so its easier to say read my profile then if you still want to chat get back to me

its ok to say what you dont like so people know. Have seen some profiles where they sound grumpy and agressive but they still have verifications so just goes to show that either some men are desperate or they are the same sort of people.

I'm not looking for shrinking violets. Men that approach me are usually the the type I go for. Some people have profiles that attract thousands of messages a day, every Tom, Dick and Harry wants a bash.

Some tailor their profile to allow people to filter themselves out. One persons negativity is another's feisty.

I like profiles that are not ambiguous. I have no problems with negativity, rude I'd simply ignore!

I think thats the point so many confuse negativity as in the person reading realises they are not what the profile owner is looking for with rudeness which is different to all but the disgruntled.

Its all about the pictures at the end of the day I'm afraid - even then you can have a female profile with two lines of text,no pictures and still get 25 messages a day.

Some dont meet those with rant profiles, stringent filtering requirements about who they want and there are others who dont meet those who whinge in forums. It is refreshing that we are all a little different, have varied passions and criteria for what is hit or miss. I usually judge others by what they do more than say, but the internet leaves the latter becoming the former. If the op has plenty of choice then he can refine his selection criteria to perfection. Everyone wins

The key point is: do readers interpret the author's intention correctly? Some people may just have difficulty expressing themselves, others may just be phased off and it shows, whilst others really don't care

To tell people what you're not looking for is easier than just telling folk what your ARE looking for because many people on here, the vast majority being single men but not all, will pester with ridiculous/ inane questions and statements.

We like to think ours is concise and tells a lot, both negatively and positively, about us, some people perceive this as being picky/negative. We see it as being totally pissed off with a lot of the wannabes and fantasists that haunt this site so trying to make it clear what we seek. Although most do not bother to read, if they ever do, they would understand why we never even opened their message.

It is ultimately about perception and choice and many could see the original post by the Op as negative. After all, it is there profile and not yours, why worry?

True, ladies are in power here and everything goes according to what they want, meaning that they can be picky... But because of that, many of them assume that they can get away with whatever because men will gawk at them... And that is the one thing that annoys me the most... Many times I started a conversation, threw in a joke or 2, and the same people who would say "NO ONE LINERS!" Will be giving one word answers like "yes", " no", "fine", and I'm the only one making an effort for an intelligent conversation... From the moment I get those, it's simple... I delete the convo... Can't be making efforts for someone who's not worth it, no matter how hot

I skim it and look for keywords. If they catch my eye, I read the sentence, but lets not hold back here, some fabsters start novels and never quite finish.

It was not, don't flatter yourself. It was more a generalised empathy with all the members who make polite requests on their profile and yet get ignored and a comment to the OP. I know rants on profiles are not appealing but let's remember the context. This site can get very frustrating at times!

I know it can get frustrating some people mix it up with a bit of do's and don't not bad. Some use humour. But all out negativity nahhh don't care how hot u think you are. Don't care to meet ya!!

Sometimes I have started to re-write our profile and it turned into such a rant. It does get frustrating when people don't read what you've written. My main issue is single guys emailing me pretending Reggies doesn't exist... then there are the people who tell us that because we live locally it would be rude not to meet them... etc etc...

But then I think about the aggressive demanding profiles I've read in my time and the picture they paint of the people writing it. So I always delete it and go back to the original one.

I understand how people end up in that place, but sometimes you need to breath and let it go!!

A while ago a single lass put up a thread asking for a profile re_iew. Her profile was very negative, even borderline aggressive and was re_iewed as such.

I'm not sure what her motive was in posting the thread, as she rejected the criticism by just pointing out that she still got tons of messages. I think in her case it was more a point of getting messages despite her profile.

When I was on my single profile on here I started out all sweetness and light but the constant badgering from some aggressive types on here caused me to come across more bitchy to make my preferences clear. I think we have struck a balance of being clear in a fun way on our couples profile but I understand why single fems rant on their profiles.
