Where my mum is from in Ireland the undertakers own the pub as well , and they used to be the local cab firm as they were the only ones in town that had cars.

There was a curry house next door to a chapel of rest in bolton. nice place and the never had a curry described as simply 'meat' as some dodgy ones do.

In Cornwall, you'll see shops saying Undertaker & Builder. I guess its a through back to the past when all you needed to do was dig a hole!
