"Are you on Windows 8 or 8.1? As the poster above suggests, try booting into safe mode. This can be a bit of a ball ache on Windows 8 though." I think it's 8.1, only got it in Feb so I hope so. I hope it's not removing all my files etc I have them backed up on usb sticks but it's still a pain x | |||

"If it's not 8.1, I would upgrade. If the last good configuration works, it might be best to do some generic troubleshooting steps. Download the free version of Malwarebytes and do a scan, get CCleaner and do a registry clean up, get a decent free anti-virus on there (like Avast) etc. " Should probably add a disclaimer: If any of this results in your laptop exploding and your house burning down, I'm not to blame. It's probably Sydney Universities fault. | |||
